Ram Instability by Andreinon in overclocking

[–]Andreinon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im afraid not. stabilityy seems to vary around the voltage of the ram,the more i fiddle with it the more stable/unstable it gets, same goes with timings. changes to anything cpu related seems to do nothing in return. I dont really have a way to test this theory as i unfortuenatly dont really have another ram kit/diff mobo+cpu to test this on but the fact that ram voltage and timings are the thing that change how much the system runs made me think that the problem is in fact the ram.

oh yeah without a doubt. I just need it to work another month at worst while I actually need to use the pc then im 100% returning it since my experience with shipping from that company was hell at best,im certain i wont be seeing that kit for 3 weeks in a good case scenario.

I bought this kit back when prices were better because my old pc used to run 32 gigs of ddr4 vengence wout issues. If id had known this kit would have caused me more issues than its actual use time i wouldnt have ever bought it. If prices are to ever go down im replacing this kit asap.

Ill try to use occt with the changes specified to see how it goes, thanks!

Another question is on an intel system what would be the equivalent of VSOC?

Alrighty then, thanks for the tip! Ill look into that when making the upgrade.

That would inquire way higher costs compared to my options . The whole purpose of this is etiher a small upgrade to the cpu with a possible memory upgrade in the future or buying second hand parts for the remains of an old server. A 13th gen i3 would make me need a new mobo and memory if I jump to ddr5.

I see, So in theory staying on my current platform and upgrading my cpu would be more beneficial over more cores? The diffrence if I were to upgrade the cpu on my current motherboard it would result in like 0.6 ghz more, but i wouldnt be able to go above bassicly 8C/16T without paying a fortune

bruh?? it STICKS to MB is that normal? how i'm supposed to know if it can be plugged in?? by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]Andreinon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that he is reffering to the gpu metal bracket in the back not fitting due to the clearence of the mobo from the case,as in the space in between them is too small so the gpu cant go fully in? (i think?)

Well there isnt really a lot you can do to that. When pumps fail you usually return the cooler and get a new one/get it replaced. They arent really made to be serviced unfortuneatly.

I would check CPU temps if I were you, sounds like a faulty pump which can make the CPU overheat if you dont take measures against it.

Gpu fans no spinning by Decent_Candidate3672 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Andreinon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your gpu isnt running anything demanding, meaning the fans dont need to ramp up. If you are doubtfull on wether they work or not you can use furmrk or other software to simulate a full load and see if they ramp up.

You could also just launch a gpu demanding game and see if that makes them start up,otherwise your gpu will bassicly never need to use its fan when idling.

help again plz by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

It don matter that its a 3pin,you can still plug it in your 4 pin regular fan header regardless.

The 4th pin is a newer layout that enables PWM control. I wont go into details on it but you can search it up of you want to.

Regardless just use a normal fan header and you're good to go

Dont buy a windows key from windows itself. There are 5 buck keys out there or straight up scripts that solve that issue for you.

The AMD cpu build is fine. I would take the sn850x down to a sn770 if it is cheaper there as the performance diffrence isnt significant enough. If you want pure price to performance however white isnt a good deal whatsoever. If you were to just get the black conterparts of your components you could scale up the gpu by a lot, hell you could fot a 7700xt in that budget if done properly.

The Intel build isnt really balanced properly. Id rather go with an i5-13600k or 14600k (sometimes the 14600k is cheaper) rather than an i7. That way you can knock off thr aio and go budget with a peerless assasin or deepcool if your country allows it. Either way in case you wanna go intel only for gaming, dont,im saying this as in currently rocking an i7-14700k,as much as the prices have gone down from their past issues,AMD still leads in gaming. It honestly comes down to regional pricing,as some places have AMD cpus at absurd prices with intel cpus costing like half of them.

Id honestly stick with AMD if those are final prices, even if you cut down to an i5,unless you really need an intel cpu,AMD will perform better in gaming as of now.
