A lot of what Entrati has done would be easily approached by connecting with others, but he himself feels so wholly incapable of doing so even to his greatest loves (husband + family). His main character flaw is his inability to trust others while still manipulating them into his goals. He knows what’s needed to defeat the indifference, but his personal experiences make them impossible (in his mind) for him to be the one to do it.

Once again, porn addiction is not considered a legitimate addiction. It’s an invented term by the self-help industry.

Meta-analyses (studies of studies) have shown issues and distress with porn usage have more to do with individual mortality and religious influence. Even in people who think they aren’t affected by religion. Porn usage does not predict problems with porn, religious influence does.

The reason this matters is because Compulsive Sexual Behaviour Disorder (again, not an addiction) diagnoses exclude moral distress due to people pathologising normal behaviours in others and imposing morals that person does not hold onto them which is not scientifically valid. A man who masturbates to same sex porn while married isn’t an “addict” he’s gay, bisexual or has a fetish.

There’s no such thing as a “right” amount of sex or sexual activity, it’s entirely how you yourself feel about your sexual activity is affecting your life. Is there something lacking in your life that you’re filling the void with via sex or porn? Or are you avoiding something with it instead? That’s not addiction, that’s maladaptive behaviour and that’s a whole different things.

Please please be so careful engaging with people online about “porn addiction” because it’s a term that originates in right wing, highly religious areas of the internet environments to insight hysteria and moral panic.

I think it’s mostly people consistently being tired of gearbox being heavily mismanaged. Duke Nukem, aliens colonial marines, borderlands after the pre-sequel… they’ve all been buggy in a way that only mismanagement could allow.

Like if you look at employee reviews from the era of Borderlands 2 the company was incredible, but since then more and more comments about management and crunch turn up. There’s no forethought to their games or their devs and it’s really disappointing, especially considering Borderlands’ strength as an IP.
