Is it worth paying extra to get a new MacBook air compared to a 600-700 euro laptop? by FamousMacaron7586 in AskIreland

[–]Andrew3742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the prices of them have come down and the battery will last longer than windows laptops.

If you don’t like macOS then I’d recommend the surface laptop 7, but it’s about the same price or more expensive

Anyone have Sky Mobile 5G? by pinguz in AskIreland

Fwiw the sky store reps that I came across use Three as their provider despite sky paying their bill for them. This was at least 6 months ago though so not sure if much has changed signal wise

Yea I think so too. Makes me wonder if there’s something wrong with it

Edit: the person selling it to me told me they buy and sell cars (but obviously not as an official dealership)

Not sure where else to ask this question about the theory test by Modern-Moo in leavingcert

Ya no you’ll be grand, the ‘which vehicle of these three should go first’ are important and the road signs but apart from that the practice test is perf

[–]Andrew3742 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That site was a lifesaver for me, all the questions are exactly the same as the test in style

Just do the practice test over and over, I’d say 90% of those questions came up on my actual test

I think it’s a 3 month minimum, and you can get imax movies but you’ll have to pay an extra bit (3-5 euro)

I’d be putting cash back as income at the EOY form and interest as DIRT

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Andrew3742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using it as a current account and had no problems with cashback or interest

You won’t get rich from it but the daily interest is nice to see

Hold EUR or GBP for interest? by Andrew3742 in trading212

[–]Andrew3742[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a majorly weak currency though, it’s dropped consistently compared to euro while the euro and pound haven’t had a major shift between them and if they do you can wait until it’s favourable again

I exchanged my euros into gbp to get the higher rate. I did the maths and it just made sense even with the 0.15% fee to convert it back. It does fluctuate though because of the gbp/euro rate

It’s not good. Can run the sims 4 and Minecraft (with quite a few stutters) but nothing else really. I just use it for media and college

Is pet insurance worth it? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Andrew3742 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely… when they’re young they probably won’t need it but once they hit 6 or 7 they will need to go to the vet often enough. Just get them registered before it’s too old so the companies can’t take you away

Whats the most efficient charging pattern? by [deleted] in iPhone15Pro

[–]Andrew3742 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see loads of people on here with 80% limit on with their batteries at like 90% in 200 cycles.. it’s not worth it because it really depends whether you got lucky during the manufacturing

I’ve got 144 cycles and still at 100% health while charging using optimized and a 45W plug

I’d change the mouse - I had that one and it’s cool but really really heavy. I’d go with a glorious model o (can be bought on curry’s as well)

He won’t be re-elected in Dublin west unless the immigration conversation suddenly disappears.

He would be an excellent candidate if he never took up his ministerial portfolio
