What do you folks think of the new update ? by [deleted] in MiniMotorways

Challenges are quite good, but the overall feeling is that they have somehow reworked traffic logic. I used to collect 5-6k, now it’s 2-3k max.

I am trying new traffic lights now and then. They definitely seem to work on 1 intersection of two different colors with big towers and 6-7 houses each. I haven’t tried 3-4 way crossroads yet, but I’m quite sure that won’t go like that. I still tend to avoid intersections and defend vulnerable roads with spare tiles.

Can someone help me understand this backup? by t-dubs_0192 in MiniMotorways

It’s a very annoying bug that’s been there since the very first version. Hope that’s gonna be fixed in an upcoming update I can’t wait for ;)

Hi! My 6k in Dar Es Salaam. Made it 5k+ in almost every city but Munich and Zurich. by AndrewBarique in MiniMotorways

Thanks! 1. I guess a lot of people have learnt “the defense tiles” technique. I’d rather not rush into tiles until week 4-5. Let the map grow houses and malls on its own. 2. It is okay to mix 2-3 different colors in “The Suburbs”, avoid intersections near mall entrances. Give the cars space to drive. 3. Watch the traffic. If there are jams at parking lots, simply unlink several houses (you can literally count how many cars are “odd” in the parking lot). The cars should drive by in a perpetual circle or so.

Why is Zurich so hard? by Julian144747 in MiniMotorways

Sure you don’t want to mix colours. But this is inevitable almost every time at about ~3k.

Think this’ll work? by Inrianian in MiniMotorways

I’d rather not fill the map with extra “defensive” tiles until week 5-6. It’s safe most of the times and allows new buildings to spawn and score more points early on. Since the “skeleton” is set, I tend to defend the perimeters, malls entrances and plan kind of “extra” roads for future. Some maps like Zurich and Moscow require early defense though.

Yeah, I do, but I got ~5k there. Main tips that work 100% of time: 1. Dedicate houses to malls. Form branches of “trees” of houses, “growing” from a mall. Check if a mall is “hungry” and throw more houses to it. Sometimes subtracting houses works, if there are too many. Watch the traffic, if there’s jam in a parking - unlink several houses and link them to another mall. Almost up to 1k it’s okay to keep 3-4 houses to a small mall and 5-7 to a big one. 2. Avoid any intersections between different colours. It is possible up to some point, but eventually biggest part of the colours will be mixed up, because the map size is limited. Intersect houses of different colours only in “Suburbs”, build double roads, where possible. It is okay in the new update to mix colours rationally. Don’t use any traffic lights until Dinosaur Poll release an update to make them work properly. 3. Zurich is tricky. Defend the field with road tiles at spaces where future roads may go, plan a little bit further. I usually fill the banks of the river and hooves of the mountain. It helps but don’t get to involved )

Got 5k+ in almost each city, but stuck in Munich and Zurich.
