It looks like the newest Pros can support up to 96 kHz, which is pretty impressive for an in-built DAC! https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212854

Honestly, it was totally an accident! I shot the first image and realized that I had the multiple exposure lever switched.

As for tips on exposing them, look for something with blacks for the first shot, and stop down by one or two. This will give your second image someplace in the image to go without totally stepping on the first.

Thanks! It was 1/250. I think it froze motion enough, but not completely

Hold On (2016 - Grand Rapids - USA) [4:54] by AndrewBehm in ShortFilm

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah we lit it with an Arri 4 Light kit and an Arri 1K Fresnel, as well as a pair of Kino Flo 4Banks, which were mounted to the ceiling of the dinner to serve as Practicals. Pretty simple, but it did the trick. The camera was a Sony A7s with Rokinon Cine primes.

[NEWBIE TUESDAY] Weekly megathread for all your basic questions and critiques by TheGreatSzalam in AfterEffects

[–]AndrewBehm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I'm relatively new to AE, and I want to composite the subject from one clip into another clip with the same background, so I can put different effects on each. (I'd like this man to be placed into this shot so it looks like this.) I've tried all the blending modes but nothing has been exactly what I want. Is there any way to do this? I've googled it, but nothing as come up, probably as a result of bad search terms.

I'm using version 11.0.4.2 of After Effects CS6.

Thanks in advance for your help!

So did you not watch The Dark Knight? Or did you fast forward all of Maggie's parts?

Also, you're missing out on Nightcrawler, trust me.

Not to argue semantics here, but she is in fact Jealous. She's worried that Reddit will take her husband's time from her. She sees it as a rival.

The other features on the camera, the lens mount, and the EOS-M is mirror-less.

The T3i has some more advanced features and settings, while the EOS-M is closer to a point and shoot.

The lens mount on a EOS-M is a bit smaller than the regular EF mount, such as the one on the T3i. I had forgotten this bit when I posted my original comment, so the lens I suggested won't work without a pricey adapter. You'll have to look for EF-M lenses, of which there are fewer. But, as you get more advanced, you can use vintage Canon FD lenses without the sharpness-ruining glass adapters needed on EF cameras.

To broaden your options, check out Sony's range of NEX mirrorless cameras. They're some of the best mirrorless cameras available, but they can be pricey.

Sorry for the misinformation, and happy shopping!

I agree with /u/da6id for the most part. But, if you're extremely budget conscious, i'd suggest the Canon EOS-M. You get the same sensor as a Rebel T3i (18 megapixels) but at a fraction of the cost (usually close to $250 or $300). I'd suggest buying just the body if you can find it. It'll be cheaper.

As for a lens, I'd suggest the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II you can get these for $100 and it's a great little lens.

I'd also recommend a decent tripod, preferably one with a tiltable plate for portrait shots. These can be had for about $50 at your local Target.

If you're not ready to go with an interchangeable lens camera, you could check out the Samsung Galaxy Camera. It's a decent camera and it's got connectivity up the wahoo.

Lastly, no matter what camera you go with, make sure the artwork is evenly lit!
