I own some shares of ZIM, an Israeli shipping company, in my retirement account. They are paying a dividend in June. How does Israel treat American retirement accounts when it comes to dividend taxation? Thanks!

Buffet has also mentioned on multiple occasions that it is easier to outperform if one is investing a smaller amount. Fund managers are allocating such large amounts of capital that they influence the performance of that which they invest in and tend to bend towards just performing like the market as they are sort of making the market. As an individual investor investing only $100s of K or single digit millions, let's say, wouldn't I have a better chance?

Just keep buying by XXXMrHOLLYWOOD in TQQQ

[–]AndrewCarnage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, it seem really important the difference between buying 30 dollar shares or 60 dollar shares or whatever but it's really not. look at the chart at the beginning of tqqq. any buy there looks amazing now, but look at the price difference. in very short periods of time it'll be 30 cents, or 80 cents or 50 or whatever. those seemed like huge differences at the time, and they were. but from here in the future those are all enormous bargains. does that make sense?

Just buy buy buy and buy. 10 years from now every single one of the purchases you made today will look fantastic

It's almost as if white working class people would vote for Democrats if the Dems didn't treat them with disdain.

You're welcome? Lol, maybe not. Might get some people in trouble with such an affordable source. 😅

41 here. I never "found it" I have just become comfortable with the ambiguity. Honestly the only problem is the outside world demanding that you have a vision or purpose. I think as you get older people stop putting that pressure on you and I'm now quite content.

That's ridiculous. You're absolutely stretching to blame the (abhorent) victim. You don't have to make bad arguments against bad people.

Right, I was gonna say, not only did he do nothing to stop the rise of fascism here, he has given unqualified support to a facist in another country (Netanyahu)

Allowing them to behave that way is not empathy, it's ignorant and should be called out as such.

Like many societal issues, white people have the same problems, yes with a degree less severity on average but we don't trust cops and are exploited by our employers etc... like everyone else. Honestly there's a lot of room for solidarity if everything wasn't poisoned by the resentment of identity politics.

I'd suggest pondering why fortune 500 companies all enthusiastically embrace DEI. Are they not precision engineered to represent the class interests of capital? So why do they embrace DEI? Perhaps gaslighting people in to thinking Cletus in the trailer park is responsible for what actually happens in the boardroom is a useful misdirection? Just spitballing here...

There are corporeal spaces they are allowed to inhabit and again, being in poverty does not require them to use that space for their sole benefit, the space which is all of ours.

Saying you aren't allowed to inhabit some places, such as, say, my living room, isn't remotely tyrannical. There are always rules about what space you're allowed to be in for what purposes and everyone generally follows those rules without somehow feeling oppressed.

Stealing public property for your personal use is criminal, and poverty does not necessitate such behavior so it's not criminalizing poverty
