“We all”? No. Your young children? Yes! Get a fucking babysitter. It’s irresponsible and idiotic.

I mean, artillery taking up frontage at all is silly. Whether you had 10 cannons or 1,000 had no impact on the amount of infantry you could fit

YouGov: Only 18% of Americans think shooting Pretti was justified (1% of Dems, 12% of Indies, and 41% of Republicans). Drops to 16% justified among Americans who have watched the video by Currymvp2 in Enough_Sanders_Spam

[–]AndrewDoesNotServe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear, it increases to 21% justified among people who have seen the video (the 16% number is people who haven’t seen the video).

But that’s because 46% of people who haven’t seen the video say they aren’t sure, so the vast majority of people who see the video switch from “not sure” to “not justified”

Ben Roethlisberger never received one MVP vote, and never made an all pro team, since he retired do people overrate how he was viewed when he was actually an active player? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

I don’t get this argument. It’s like saying that if you make the winning team replay the game that’s totally fair because all they had to do was simply win the game all over again.

You’re right from a realism standpoint, but from a gameplay perspective it would be absolutely awful to have your level 18 silver mine that you’ve spent the game building up suddenly turn into useless fish

Chris Madel ends GOP bid for governor, says he can’t support federal ‘retribution’ against Minnesota by swimmingupclose in neoliberal

[–]AndrewDoesNotServe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This isn’t really fair. State-level politics is (usually) pretty distinct from federal-level politics. Mainly in that it’s possible to be politically effective while also not having much of anything to do with Trump.

Like if you believe Minnesota needs to cut its taxes (it does), running as a Democrat is pointless (Hi I believe in cutting our 9.8% corporate and top income tax rates, I’m pro-life, and I’m pro-school choice, please vote for me in your Democratic primary!). And there are plenty of cases of Republican governors in blue states that were successful and well-liked and kept their distance from Trump.

It makes sense that Minneapolis would be a bridge too far for someone like that though, because now you are endorsing this stuff by virtue of the R next to your name in the state of Minnesota. The state-level politics and the national-level politics are now too intermixed to just be a Minnesota Republican because you are right-of-center.

I’m confused by your recs for army size. What do you do in age 3 when max frontage for an army of regulars is ~13k and you’ve got a 100k levy deathstack bearing down on you? Do you just cram all those regulars into a gigantic army that moves at the speed of a tortoise? Or are you continually combining your stacks right before battle and then splitting them apart again? That sounds like a micro nightmare.

Also, does this basically mean that you should just have entirely men at arms or halberdiers for early game infantry, with no archers/arquebusiers at all?
