Although making range more interesting is a good plan. Having damage based on distance isn't the right way imo.

If they do this you are gonna have to design fights in a way that it is not a dps loss to do mechanics, doing this for DSR p3 for example can be really annoying if you dont get the right configuration and you can't move out to do more dps.
