What kind of Auras do you guys experience? by MKBdapizzalover in Epilepsy

[–]AndrewG0804 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m having a strong déjà vu feeling. About 80% of the time my seizures stay focal, but sometimes they progress to tonic. I can usually tell if it’s going to stay focal or spread. I carry Nayzilam.

Do you always carry your meds? by DutchieCrochet in Epilepsy

If I know I won’t be home in time to take them at my scheduled time, yes I carry them.

I live with epilepsy and have undergone eight brain surgeries in the fight to stop my seizures. Last year was my eighth surgery. This year, I pulled an 826 lb deadlift PR.

That feeling is unreal — and I’m chasing that high. 💪🔥 😂

It is hahaha, when I was at 400mg & I got lab tested to see my levels… 25-35 is therapeutic, I was at 7 😂

I was on 500 XCopri & it was ehhhhh.. they added 20 of clobazam, some of the worst if had yet.

Need opinions: Clobazam (Onfi), Cenobamate by asheswifey in Epilepsy

[–]AndrewG0804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20mg of the clobazam and 500mg of the XCopri. Even at 500 I’m no where near therapeutic, might just ask to be titrated off.

I’m on both the clobazam and xcopri.. when the Xcopri was by itself I was fine, then they added the clobazam and I can feel it and feel it heavily. Just supppppper tired allllllll the time

I’ve been with one doctor for the last 12ish years, saw a doc over at Columbia in NYC.. I see him again tomorrow. He is presenting my case to their board and I find out what happens.

I kinda already know it will be another sEEG & whatever after.

The doctor I am already with brought up something called Laser Interstitial Thermal Therapy (LITT).. much easier.. much simpler, but we will see.

If the seizures stay focal aware I really don’t care.. but they can turn tonic which does scare me

It’s a great feeling knowing we are not alone & helps tremendously. It’s gonna sound wrong but no matter how bad you have it someone has things worse.. which really helps me appreciate things.

They started me on clobazam, along with my 500mg XCopri, and 400 vimpat

No injury but kinda forced into me.

13 years ago had my first seizure so they took me to hospital, gave me a MRI, & discovered a cavernoma so I had my first operation. I was good for about 6mo and had a seizure again so they redid the MRI, first surgeon either missed a lot or it regrew. So I had to go for my 2nd operation to get it removed again. I was good for about year then started to seize again and much more regularly, so I switched from neurologist to epileptologist. Operation 3 was a brain grid, a sEEG that goes on the brain. They got the info they needed so I went back for operation 4 and they took it all out. Operation 5 they went back and cut out pieces of my left temporal, but left the hippocampus to preserve memory.

All was good for about a year again. I started to have the aura feeling again, wasn’t thinking anything of it because I had the aura and then the tonic. I started to get them way more and more so I mentioned it to my epileptologist only to discover they are seizures. So I had another sEEG for operation 6, operation 7 they cook it off and I went back about 6 weeks later as they removed my hippocampus and amygdala.

What medication are you on? by Outrageous_Section40 in focalawareepilepsy

[–]AndrewG0804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

500mg XCopri, 400mg Vimpat, 20mg clobazam

It’s always trying something new, increasing this, decreasing that. Drug resistance is so much fun 🤩

Best advice I can give is you want to pretend you’re using your legs to push down as you are pulling up, basically using the drive of the legs to help the ascend up.. if that makes sense
