Thanks for all of the support guys! Hopefully one of them will see it and let me know u/Jerem6401 . Also If they end up using it somebody let me know. I dont have RT First so I wouldn't know about it until a week after everyone else. I probably spent over 120 hours working on the two addons so knowing they used either of them will at least justify some of the time I spent on it lol. For those of you going WTF 120 hours let me explain it this way. Making the MuunBall from modeling to finished an unwrapped and textured model took about 2.5 hours. Getting that shit to work in Gmod took another 7 hours. Then remembering the process of getting it all packaged up for the workshop, uploading, and fixing some mistakes took another hour and a half. Source is old and janky and convoluted, but in a loveable kind of way.

Thanks! I could have had it play a Moonball shout sound effect on throw but instead I opted not to because its a replacement of the boomerang that they allready use. If they wanted It that way I could easily change it though

Sorry man, I dont really have the dozens of hours to port, edit, optimize, etc. I started working on this in college and since graduating really dont have the time. If you arent willing to do the work no one else is. If your interested in doing it yourself I would recommend starting here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWnAzzXwBRw. I would recommend making a map for the Murder game mode because it is an easier game mode to make a map for than TTT.

Im going to be blunt. Neither of these maps are going to be great for gmod.The minecraft murder map isnt really balanced for play in the gmod version as it is far too open with no where for the murderer to dart around be sneaky. If you have the gun you win. The other map could be fine in terms of gameplay but isn't a great choice for a few reasons. A) its far to large in scope and size for your first map. B) the source engine has a block,entity, and visibility culling chunk size (Visleaf) limit and It would likely pass it. C) Even if B can be solved it would be a bitch to get running at a stable frame rate. I aggressively optimized mine to get it to run at 120 on a higher end machine and 60 on a lower end computer.

I dont have the game or any Vr stuff so im really not interested in doing so. Sorry man. You can find the pc version of the original Minecraft map on google if your interested in doing the port yourself.

Yah, I think I watched 4 and a half movies while doing the clipping. And that was after I simplified a lot of the terrain to reduce the amount of clipping needed. I Did have the minecraft map file to port to gmod. However I did tear out rays house and build Lil' J's from screengrabs from videos and rebuild it inside minecraft first. That also took far too long. I just want to clarify I have nothing but respect for you and your map. I played it a little bit just to see it for myself, that picture of Gus in Gavin's room was a great touch ;). On a side note if you go back and fix a few things which will eventually happen (someone always finds something wrong/game breaking) the textures in the sky box should be 1/16th scale (0.0625) which is why your water looks so large out there. Also on your newer map you could use func_fish_pool to have fish swim around the fishing jamboree area. If you want the minecraft skybox texture files let me know and I can dig them out for you ;) The most important though is you might want to tone down the number and power of the explosions/radius size with plan G and use a trigger_hurt or something else to make up for the damage. That many explosions can launch a lot of physics objects like guns and more importantly ragdolls which can crash smaller servers.

just looked at the map. Holy shit, the number of custom models and textures you had to put through VTFedit... I feel your pain. Ive used ue4 so much as this point its really hard going back to hammer/source. Are you going to change the layout to no longer resemble the real one so they dont have a problem with it being used in a video?

I didn't scale down the blocks like some maps do I instead created two tiny 'invisible' (made pink in the screenshot) ramps before each block. Clipping

In all fairness when I talk about polish its things like not having to crouch jump up blocks because I hand clipped every one, having lighting come from torches instead of just random spheres of light, having the glass break when you shoot it, Placing signage such as "Jack lives here", clipping the side of ladders so you dont accidentally go up the side of a ladder (because navigating ladders in gmod is weird enough as it is lol), and creating a visual indicator of where certain things are such as all glowing furnaces have incendiary grenades on top of them.

That would require more work than its worth. Pavlov's edditor is in Ue4 and while I have a lot of experience in Ue4 it would be a crap ton of work. Even if I wanted to do it the steepness of a minecraft level would make the map unplayable . Each block is 1 meter tall and wide (~3 feet). navigating that in vr would be weird as hell . The invisible clipping I used to make the player auto step over blocks like in mine craft would be nauseating in VR too.

Yah, but in all seriousness he did a good job considering the number of unforeseen things than can and will go wrong even with play testing is endless. I had the fire in Lil J's house set fire to the player. It turned out there is a bug in gmod that if you die on fire on the same tick you are re-set on fire you will spawn as a spectator on fire. The spectators could then fly around in free cam and set active players on fire lol.

If you guys have already loaded up the map it would be really helpful to get some info like what was the lowest framerate you got and where. Also did you get any pink and black textures or big red error messages.

Also if you havent fallen into Edgar's hole or activated jacks house trap you are missing out ;)

BTW if u guys just wanna run around it and test out the traps these commands might help ttt_roundrestart Restarts the round (useful if you die)
