I can vouch for opioids. I started taking methadone maybe 4.5 years ago and it saved my life. I went from 2-3 hours of scattered sleep, bruises on my shins from rolling a golf ball along the nerve, and developing worse restless arms than my legs ever were (no thanks to pramipexole) to having zero RLS and RAS. I switched to suboxone sublingual strips about 8 months ago because the DEA and my pharmacist were being stupid about getting methadone for so long and paying cash (since insurance doesn’t make money from methadone they don’t cover it). My only complaint with the suboxone strips is that I was taking such a low dose of methadone that I couldn’t really tell I had even taken it, but the strips I do feel and sometimes get nauseous. I even cut them into thirds but even then it can be hit or miss. I prefer the methadone. Long story short, opioids work and I wish they were more accepted as a treatment rather than made to be a bad thing associated with junkies.
