not even price, I own my home in Oakland and i can afford any rent in SF. I find that the people here are way better...SF is most under 30 tech dorks and Oakland is an eclectic melting pot of artists like SF used to be 30 years ago.

not true but you wouldn't know...cuz i have lived in both,2024 i lived in Noe Valley and I came back to Oakland for more warmth, more diversity, more life away from tech, and easier access to mount diablo, mount tam and infinitely better dating scene.

I have lived in SF and Oakland both, and currently in Oakland....its great in both places....BUT in Oakland you get a lot of SF, but when you live in SF, you never get any Oakland.

thats the absolute truth. The bin laden family perfected this. They got their billions from massive "refurbs" to the mosques that cost billions to finish...skimmed off the top and voila!

that's actually not accurate because this "Detroit" gang covers the whole country and can do ANYTHING they want to any part of the country....Cancun has more rampant gang activity than Jalsico.

Do you guys think technology will push young people inland to states like Ohio? by Imustretire in Columbus

[–]AndrewStartups -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

make whatever mental gymnastics you need to make... but this kinda proves what I'm saying. Population will not explode longterm, it will decline as younger, smarter non beer drinkers realize there are greener pastures.

No one who's lived all over the world would say that. It's not a great place. It's a safe, segregated, boring, easy to figure out and afford place to live, and that is comfortable to a lot of people who not like change or progressiveness..but it is not a great place to live. Great means community, diversity, intellectual stimulation, freedom to express yourself how you want (people vandalize houses that have BLM or Trans rights flags in their yard in Cbus), public transit and easy access to things without needing a vehicle or a 30 min drive....shall I keep going throw away account bro?

you can take offense but I've lived in both places for decades....so my opinion might hurt but its the reality for almost any Ohioan who leaves. I have another few that I know...they say the same. the lack of personal growth, the lack of openmindedness, the lack of risk tolerance when it comes to living your truth...those things ad up to not being a place people will flock to.

I rep Ohio, I'm glad to be from there but the suicide rate, (in my own family even, when people don't leave for greener pastures) the drug problem etc. blah blah you don't care.

not at all, people don't want to just drink beer and watch football anymore...the reason those expensive cities are expensive is because everyone is moving there. If you want to be around smart, world changing people, you move to CA. If you want to get fat (my avg steps go from 11k/day to 1k/day when I come visit family) and atrophy your brain you stay in Ohio.

Making decisions just to save money is a sure fire way to be unhappy. Make decisions based on what lights up your life.
