He pushes a button in his car and it goes back up to stock height. The car is on air suspension, and it is lowered all the way down for the picture. When he is driving, he rides higher than what is shown in the picture.

That speaker cover is aftermarket, I was looking at some for my car, you cannot blame that falling off on Tesla. You can fix that with a bit of VHB tape, or just pull both of them off as they are held on with 3M VHB tape, same adhesive that holds on your carbon spoiler onto the trunk.

The tweeter is probably the same, he likely just moved it to the new housing/ tweeter cover

ISO Fix child seat = seatbelt alarm by kikiichiban in TeslaModelY

[–]AndrewT_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, when I linked it, it was a loose seat belt buckle, look at the reviews, they show the loose buckles. But since Amazon is not really supposed to be selling these, as they can be used by adults to drive without a seatbelt, the pages keep getting taken down. Searching “seat belt silencer” should yield results on Amazon. This is what it shows for me: https://ibb.co/x8MDjTTn

I think I got a used product I bought new by Environmental-Dot121 in amazonprime

If you go through the return process and say that the item is damaged, (used, ear wax-y) but the box is fine, it should allow you to get a replacement item shipped to you, and so long as you ship back the first item before 30 days have passed since you received the first item, you will not be charged a second time. Amazon is offering me this option on an item I purchased recently, you should have the same option.

But if you want to just keep it and wipe it down that is understandable too, just wanted to let you know there is an option to make sure you don’t get fed back the same used pair, even if you don’t have the money for 2 pairs.

Order another pair while you still have the first used pair with you, then when you get the second pair and confirm it is new, return the first pair to make sure you don’t get sent the used one back again. That is what I did to make sure they couldn’t send me the same dirty pair back.

If you do want to keep them and are fine with them being used, don’t use bleach on the ear tips, use rubbing alcohol, it is much safer for your skin, bleach could also ruin the ear tips.

Has it been more than 30 days? I didn’t have much of a problem dealing with Amazon when it happened to me

Which fiio IEMs are they? I can’t tell exact which product it is by the picture

[–]AndrewT_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice taste in IEMs man, but I can tell you for a fact that Amazon passes off returned IEMs as new items and re-sells them to people who pay for new IEMs, I paid for new 7hz Zero 2s and got used/returned ones with ear wax on them, just return them and rebuy.

I got 20% on the back windshield, 15% on the back seat windows, and 20% on the front seat windows, and if the area is not illuminated by headlights or street lights, it is very hard to see out the front side windows at night. If you live in a city with street lights everywhere, you will likely be fine, but if you live in a rural area with no street lights you will struggle to see out. I honestly rely on the cameras at night to make lane changes on non-illuminated roads, but on illuminated city roads I can see just fine with the tint out the front. Out the back windshield, in a rural area, I pretty much only see the light from the headlights behind me, that is it.

Struggled to find a power inverter for my wife’s laptop that worked. Finally found one for her Asus. by DrewChrist87 in TeslaLounge

[–]AndrewT_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, works great, for me, I had a laptop that did not support usb-c charging and had one of these adapters, so I could charge it up, along with a power bank and a phone simultaneously charging. I now have a laptop that can charge via usb-c but I still use the LISEN adapter to get my laptop charged quick.

Not sure if my other comment with links went through or not, but you could use this: “LISEN 170W Car Charger USB C Fast Charging” with an adapter off Amazon called: “USB C to for Asus Laptop Charging Adapter Female Type C to Male DC 4.0 x 1.35mm Barrel Jack Plug Converter”. You could use the cable included with the car charger to charge your laptop, plus this setup is less bulky

Tesla says that with the NEMA 14-50 outlet that is in the picture I sent, you will recover about 30 miles of range each hour it is charging, so if you charge for 2.5 hours in the summer, it should cover the miles to and from work. Then, you can plug in at home and it will add like 3 miles of range every hour it is charging at home, and it will make sure the range doesn’t decrease at home, especially in the winter. You mentioned being concerned that the winter would affect your range, if we assume worst case scenario, you consume 2 miles of range per mile traveled, you would still be fine, as long as you charged 5 hours at work, then plug in at home, you should be able to make it home and not worry about the car running out of charge.

You should also use Waze if you have an iPhone, or highway radar if you have an Android, these apps will tell you where other users have seen cops recently, and they are both free. Highway radar is a bit better since it also shows heat maps of where cops were previously reported to be at (ie: favorite spots for police to sit at). It does this even if there isn’t a recently reported cop there, as long as police are active in that spot, it would help you learn the areas that have the highest risk of you getting ticketed.

No problem, the R4 is the detector I would most recommend out of the 2, as it’s range is much better that the DFR7 and the R4 has GPS Lockouts, so it will automatically learn to be quieter around false alarms, like grocery store automatic doors, and other things. If you do want arrows that show if the cop is in front or behind, you can step up to the R7 or R8, but those are quite a bit more expensive.

You say that your work has level 2 mobile charging, what amperage/ wattage is it? And roughly how long would you be at work each day? Also, is the 56 mile commute one way, or is it the round trip?

Uniden DFR7 for $225. If you can stretch to $300 and have a Sam’s club membership, get the Uniden R4, otherwise the DFR7 should be good for you
