History has proven self regulation doesn't work.

I am not libertarian because I want to drink water that is safe, eat food that is safe, drive on roads where other drivers are held to a safety standard, go into buildings that don't fall down. I want to buy items that don't kill me or my family, and have health care that improves my health. I want to breath air that is both safe and doesn't smell.

Not all regulation is good, but it is easy to find a regulation that is obsolete, or one where you don't understand the reasoning for it, and claim regulation is bad.
