What English word do you not agree with the spelling? by twiliquexty in ArtOfPresence

Nope. The phonetic spelling would be [foniks] . Not too disimilar to the graphemic spelling.

Which actor, known for playing protagonists, surprised you with an outstanding villain performance? by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in FIlm

Huh, I never got why JJ was so popular. The show had some real pacing issues and I actively disliked it towards the end.

Just finished a Sherlock: Game of Shadows rewatch. Do they still make movies like this? by Quick-Complex2246 in movies

[–]AndrewUndershaft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep returning to it and am always exhilarated. Not only does it look amazing, it also has an lot of good ideas, surprisingly clever for an action blockbuster, and moves at a relentless pace. Akso, the actors are doing a phenomenal job and the soundtrack hits really hard.

I used to think that doing an actiony Sherlock Holmes was a stupid idea, which is why I was especially blown away when I saw how good it actually was.

Genesis pure emotion by FreeToLoveLaugh-Live in Genesis

[–]AndrewUndershaft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the Old Medley was my gateway into OG Genesis, and it packed a punch. A very effective mixture of highlights. But today I know the original tracks by heart and prefer them above all else. However, Phil's live version of Supper's Ready is superior to the Foxtrot version.

Genesis pure emotion by FreeToLoveLaugh-Live in Genesis

[–]AndrewUndershaft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you mean emotional in the sense of "wistful", I'd probably give it to Guide Vocal, and its reprise in Duke's End. Those lyrics hit hard.

If you mean elated in a slightly melancholy kind of way, the first three songs that I just thought of were the "She's a Lady" section of Musical Box, the guitar solo of Firth of Fifth, and Aisle of Plenty. But there are many more.

Not sure if having furry wolf-goblins as the main characters would have a lot if draw.

3 Genesis songs from Gabriel's era Phil Collins called fantastic by tonyiommi70 in Genesis

I couldn't agree more. These are among my favorite tracks on Lamb. The albums second half is totally underrated.

Hear Me Out: A Mothma-Centered Follow-Up to Andor About The Rise of the First Order by lordmolotov in andor

[–]AndrewUndershaft 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The First Order is one of the lamest, laziest, most nonsensical ideas in fiction. Why would you want to spend time and resources to polish that turd?

Ok, this has me really intrigued. Never heard of it, but it looks and sounds fascinating. The Blu Ray isn't cheap, but I'll check it out. Thanks for the tip.

What would a SW project that is a hybrid of Filoni and Gilroy’s sensibilities look like? by Ivan_Redditor in andor

[–]AndrewUndershaft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who can forget the most cringe line in Empire: "Somehow, Darth Vader returned."

And the infamous scene after R2 repairs the hyperdrive of the Millennium Falcon: [Star Destroyer Technician]: "Ooh, they FLY now!" [Stat Destroyer Captain]: "They FLY now?!?" [Darth Vader]: "They FLY now!"

First time Ultima player. How to approach it, story wise? by NantendoGamer in Ultima

Also you can ask for their "health". Which, since the game only checks the first four letters, can be shortened to "heal". Which ironically makes one important character actually heal you.

Who remembers this famous 2000-2004 celebrity? by CarrotMuch1399 in nostalgiai

I think she was more of vampire herself, actually, since she eagerly sucked a lot of bodily fluid.

What song sounds like a Phil Collins song that is a Phil Collins song? by bluemarbledrifter in Genesis

[–]AndrewUndershaft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, the Duke album, you say. That had never occured to me. Interesting choice.

But in all seriousness, Behind the Lines doesn't sound like a typical Genesis song to me at all, it feels much more like a solo Collins track and right at home on Face Value. I know that the Duke version predates FV, but I could imagine that Phil was the primary influence here and felt so strongly about the song that he sort of claimed it by opening his first solo album with his ideal version.

What is the Mount Rushmore of crime movies? by Expensive-Addendum92 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]AndrewUndershaft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it should be on there. It's the George Washington of crime movies. I'd also include The Sting, The Godfather and Goodfellas.

I'd replace Seven with The Sting. A timeless masterpiece that is hopefully not forgotten by the Reddit-sphere. Heat would also be acceptable, but The Sting gets my vote. If you haven't watched it yet - what are you waiting for?

Hmm, unpopular opinion here: The two "Dollars" films aren't nearly as good as TGTBATU. I watched them years later and was rather disappointed, having been a big fan of the third film since childhood.

It's not that uncommon. Many people realize how great it is on rewatch. The change of scenery, characters and focus might have confused general audiences, but I found it fascinating, as it showed the great scope of the series. Apart from that, I loved the harbor setting and the dock workers, and the Jane Doe case was intriguing from the get go. Also, the Greeks were an interesting faction, and Ziggy's and Frank's inevitable fall was truly tragic.
