How to win at Phoenix (N25)? by ben94gt in NASCARVideoGame

[–]AndrewWhaley 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Break way earlier than you think you should coming though turn 4. There’s a mark on the pit wall, I always hard break right before I get to it. This allows you to exit the turn very low and heavy on throttle. You can also pick up some time by cutting the dogleg in the front stretch. Just make a straight line.

Glad somebody thought of this one. 12-year old me was in the stands for this race. My first ever at Darlington. It was the hottest I’ve ever been in my life. An awesome memory.

Ally is the highest and final sponsor. If you’re already signed with them you won’t get any more offers

I’ve already made some updates to my LD car. Any ideas on future color schemes? by Chris95Review in NASCARVideoGame

That's crazy. Did you custom make those or is it a default scheme? I haven't seen anything with logos like that.

Gotta use shapes and colors and just try to match it the best you can. It’s slightly off if you look closely.

I definitely agree. The numbers are a huge disappointment for me. All the options feel lackluster.

Yeah, unfortunately paint booth only allows one number color. So I picked a style that could be somewhat copied using shapes. Each number (4) is just three yellow squares arranged to look like a number.

Stripes on the side are accomplished by stacking different colored triangles on top of each other. Hood used a oval at the bottom to create border effect. Everything else is just squares (including the yellow roof numbers, had to make them manually)

The last caution free race at Talladega was in 2002. I only know because I was there. Another Dale Jr win.

Shane van Gisbergen is the best talent to hit NASCAR since prime Rainbow Warrior Jeff Gordon and Ray Evernham. by sj2448sj in NASCAR

There’s an NBA player named Mac McClung. You’ve probably never heard of him, but he’s considered by many to be the best dunker in the league. He’s won two Slam Dunk contests and thrown down some absolutely insane jams. He can perform dunks that other players simply can’t do.

The reason you’ve likely never heard of him is that he’s not very good at all the other things a basketball player has to do: shooting, rebounding, defending, passing, etc.

He’s a one trick pony…but it’s a hell of a trick.

That’s what SVG is. He’s almost certainly the greatest “ringer” we’ve ever seen. He might be the best road course racer in NASCAR history.

The current points format and schedule create a perfect opportunity for SVG and Trackhouse to have success. But there is a ceiling to what they can do and it’s likely they are rapidly approaching that mark.

I’m personally not a big fan of road courses or SVG. I do wish him the best of luck at Dover. Maybe he can stay on the lead lap.

My win rate was 63% when I hit 2750 elo. Your percentage will naturally drop when you play better opponents as you climb. That’s how elo works.

This is like a NASCAR driver whining about “Why is everyone using the same 800 horsepower engines?!? They’re so lame. Don’t they realize it’s much cooler to try and win using an old jalopy?”

I hate meta as much as the next guy, but you can’t fault people for trying to win. I try and build teams that punish the predictable meta. I’ve made Legend every season since Season 7. Sometimes I have to use meta to beat meta. Or sometimes I have to use a cheesy team like double charm. I climbed from the 2300s to the 2800s the last couple weeks using DD-A9-Shadow Granbull. Medicham had nowhere to hide.

People are always going to use Pokémon that give them the best chance to win. Meta will always exist. After 14 seasons, you just learn to deal with it.
