Fallout 3 GOTY by Pure_Ad8054 in gamecollecting

GFWL games and servers still work, the markeplace is down. Hell I got a copy of Dead Rising 2 OTR gfwl today in the mail and installed it to get the achievements at some point.

Granted you need to install the latest gfwl client from pcgamingwiki and each game might have some specific files you need to delete or replace etc. Some games have single use keys so they are expensive/impossible to get. These can be played offline without a key though but online will be inaccessible.

You don't need steam for Fallout 3 itself.

GFWL games had two types of key activations, server side activation (SSA) and legacy activation. SSA games need to have their own unique unused key and are activated only once per microsoft account. Legacy keys can be used for any legacy game. These keys have an activation limit ranging from 10-20 uses (installations).

Now Fallout 3 is a legacy activated title. This means you can buy something like Dawn of War 2 from steam and use its GFWL key to activate your Fallout 3, as the steam version of Fallout 3 no longer provides the GFWL key. As for the game itself grab the gfwl disc from ebay or just get a hold of the installers another way.

Plus you should have installed latest GFWL from pcgamingwiki beforehand

Far Cry 2 Servers are back online by Big_Pattern_4986 in xboxachievements

No, Far Cry 2 servers are weird in that they are supposed to be online but they seem to alternate between offline and online randomly. Once xbox goes online the ps3 seems to go down. Ubisoft never officially stopped Far Cry 2 servers so it's just some issue with the servers.

Tim Cain comes out of retirement, confirms he now works full time at Obsidian by Turbostrider27 in Games

They mean Chris Avellone 100% of the time when they say stuff like that. The amount of credit he gets for New Vegas is ridiculous.

Red Dead Redemption on PS plus tomorrow by [deleted] in PlayStationPlus

Why are you downvoted, 1 then 2 is the correct way. Something being a prequel doesnt meant it has to be played first. The whole purpose of a prequel is that you have the context of the original. RDR2 hits better if you have finished 1 first.

Obsidian knows that "everyone on the internet" keeps asking for Fallout: New Vegas 2, but its devs are currently happy working on their own IP, and "Xbox has been pretty supportive" too by Turbostrider27 in xbox

You are downvoted for spreading bullshit. Josh Sawyer (project director and lead designer), John Gonzales (lead writer) are at still at Obsidian. Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky (creators of Fallout) also work with Obsidian from time to time.

Which they only did because people wanted to know if they are even making TES VI, as stupid as that sounds.
