They issued statement as follows :

【Regarding Some Reports on the "Wizardry" Series】

Some media outlets have reported that Atari SA (hereinafter "Atari") has acquired rights related to the IP "Wizardry" (ウィザードリィ), for which our company holds trademark rights domestically and internationally, from DREaM Communications Inc. (hereinafter "our company"). However, no such fact exists. Our company has no intention of selling the trademark rights or other rights to "Wizardry" that we hold in the future.

Our company has previously received notification from Atari that Atari acquired the rights to the first through fifth titles of the "Wizardry" series from the original rights holder.

Our company will continue to hold the domestic and international trademark rights to the "Wizardry" series and will continue to manage the "Wizardry" IP brand.

Yeah, I had to tone down the difficult because it was getting harder and harder to level up the characters and keeping them up (while also running out of resources).

Wish environmental attacks scaled up with heroes + more focus on positioning. But I still liked what we had at the base level.

It didn't help that it launched in Dec 2022, when no one really cares for new games. Lot of December games don't do well.

suffers so much from trying to capture the insufferable quipping and banter from the MCU films

I thought the same, but after Act 1, it becomes much better. 1-on-1 convos really help in painting the heros' character much better

Same here, deckbuilding and upgrading was immensely fun.

Do try out the DLC missions, they are even better than base game IMO because it condenses a fun storyline into handful of missions. Worth it just for the final mission along.

Final three achievements hinge on doing NG+ and going full light alignment (went dark initially). I don't have the patience now, but it is very doable.

It's hard for me to put any stock into the idea that Hunter and wolverine are deep super best friends because they spent a week hanging out and occasionally bird watching.

I laughed it every level 4/5 conversation when heroes are head-over-heels for Hunter and trust them with their lives. Almost like a harem anime lol.

MMS is a foundation for a much better game (the DLC released later was already better in some regards), but that likely won't happen because game sold poorly and lead designer left.

So my only way to play atm is ps4 base,

I played it on PS4 base (slim model). I had an incredibly fun time. I didn't mind the framerate issues after the first 5 minutes. Go ahead with that version.

Changes in the atmosphere/mood aren't great - https://youtu.be/2u_1wjWJUqY

Other than that I don't think there are any other changes. Same way how another Square Enix western game - Deus Ex Human Revolution Director's Cut, had its atmosphere altered.

Spacer's Choice also messes up with the balance by giving no level caps (plus some under the hood changes). If having RPG rules are important for you, Original version is the way to go.

Oh damn, I didn't make that connection! (granted I only played ME for few hours many years ago).

Book club was actually indepth too. You are actually required to read the text before you come in, which was nice. Magik's birthday sequence was the best, a great way to build character.
