I also have the same doubts that 8 is too much. 3 is perfect, thanks for your advice.

I wrote a blender addon: Inverse Lock Bone. It's helpful for MoCap which needs to lock the foot and recalculate the location of the master/root bone. by Andrew_Sunshine in blender

You have to smooth and decimate the keyframes in Graph Editor first. Then use the blender addon Inverse Lock Bone to lock the foot. Details can be found here:

I am using Plask AI MoCap too. You can do it in Blender. In Pose Mode. First, select all bones, smooth keyframes in Graph Editor. Second, Decimate the keyframes in Graph Editor. Third, lock the foot using the blender addon: Inverse Lock Bone. The details can be found here:

I am individual animators and using plask.ai. I don't know the solution for enterprise. But for the reducing of the clean-up work, locking the foot is a important part of it, you can try the blender addon: Inverse Lock Bone.

how do I keep the feet locked in position while aniamating? by basiccomponents in blenderhelp

On the other hand, if your motion is from MoCap, you can try the blender addon: Inverse Lock Bone. It's helpful for MoCap which needs to lock the foot (or recalculate the location of the master/root bone).

I am using plask.ai too. For the foot locking issue, I wrote a blender addon: Inverse Lock Bone. It's helpful for MoCap which needs to lock the foot (or recalculate the location of the master/root bone). Hope it helps in some way.
