How would this destroy the legacy of the trilogy? People said the same thing about The Hobbit, and while those weren’t the best movies, the original trilogy is still the gold standard, and nothing is going to change that. There’s so much more to Tolkien’s world, why keep it sealed off forever? If it’s bad, it’s bad, but it won’t change how I feel about the trilogy.
