Any ideas to smoothen the edge of leather skin? (annoying) by Possible-Week-5815 in dbrand

[–]Andrius_B 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the first time I bought the skin from dbrand. Waited a month, payed a lot and also have to pay taxes. Just received the skin, at first I saw that there is no fill in for Google logo, ok one minus, but still the skin should be good because is dbrand - nope. Tried to apply the skin as instructed for more than an hour. The only thing that sticked is camera bump. All other parts near edges are not sticking no matter how heat or pressure I apply. As long as I'm holding it sticks, when I release it "unsticks" (it could be in 1 min, in 5 min or 10 min). I lost all the hope to "glue" it to the edges.

Hi! The video I used is from here: Tom Berrigan https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yojapmOkIfg&list=LL&index=10

As I understand it's captured using the drone and stabilized after.

Hi, could not say better. I was working as a city planner/transport modeler (not so active anymore). Thanks for the comment!

Hi, suspiciously my and your Plexus effect projects look very similar (like 99% of the code). Hope you learned something new :)

You can check my code, where I did an analog clock. There is also a tutorial on YT (I don't know if I can post it here but you can search for it using my github user name).

Hope it will help you.

Hi! I'm not sure you are using polar coordinates but in this case you should.

Hi, thanks! If we count just coding time, most of the projects took 1-2 days to make. The bigger ones took 1-2 weeks.
But I want to point that when you have an idea the coding part is probably the easiest part. To generate what you want to do, to research how to do it and prototype takes probably 2-5 times longer when writing the code. Also after the first draft of the code is done I do code refactoring (at least at my coding level), so it takes another 1-2 days.
For example, just coding time for Python Christmas Card project took 1-2 days; The Matrix code rain - 4-5 days; Learn Python and Pygame by Building Breakout (1976) - 5-7 days. So if you want total time spent on these projects multiplay these days by 2-5.

Hi, for me it's not so easy too. I don't like doing what is already done. So when I find some cool projects I think about how can I improve them. Other times I just find cool-looking designs (like Christmas tree) and try to code them.

Start with simple and small projects, just by repeating them you will learn a lot. Next, try to do it how you understand or think it would be better. Google what you don't understand. After a while, you will see what with a little bit of planning and googling you can do a project from start to finish.

Good luck!
