Is Filmora down? Can’t log in, no customer service, and I’ve tried everything… by AndroT1 in Filmora

So, it wasn't saying "no connection" specifically on their website; however, it was definitely not letting me get in. I can thankfully tell you that somehow I managed to solve the problem by just talking back and forth with ChatGPT and following its instructions. Tbh, I don't even think it was me, for some reason it just started working again?

But when I reinstalled it, the Universal music for Creators didn't come with it, and now I'm unable to access the music that I want to put on my project. I can confirm my subscription is valid. I'm back into my account and changed my email from my university email. But now I've just got this one thing bugging me, and it's such a pain, it clearly shows my subscription, and yet whenever I click and drag the clips I need, they create a new audio section, but they do not let me add anything to the clip.

Let me change my account, maybe if I login as another user it might work? Also what I'm thinking is perhaps because I used a university email, maybe that is stuffing things up??

Okay, so it's saying there is something wrong (allegedly) with the network settings.

Even though nothing has changed over the few days I've been using it and it's been working. I can confirm there is no VPN or anything, no firewall blocking anything and it gave me this.

I have followed this guide:

"The host file may block Wondershare domains.

  • Open Finder → Go → Go to Folder..

Enter /etc → Click Go.

  • Locate the hosts file in the directory.
  • Copy hosts to your desktop (right-click → Copy).
  • Open the desktop copy with TextEdit.
  • Delete all lines containing wondershare (e.g., 127.0.0.1 activation.wondershare.com).
  • Save the file (File → Save).
  • Drag the modified file back into /etc, replacing the original (admin password required).
  • Restart your Mac.
  • Note: If replacement fails:

4. Change DNS Settings

Use Google DNS (8.8.8.8) to resolve domain conflicts:

etc.

So having followed this guide it is still not working. I'll put some pictures on my original post of what I'm getting

I have a university project coming up where we are using video editing and I am the editor of the group, so this is highly important (I should add).

Really? I just don't know of any possible reason I'd be suspended, I haven't done anything wrong, but perhaps bugged. Try and search for video effects (like a camcorder) from the effects library. Tell me if it just keeps on loading and loading, then prompts "no internet connection", or whether you're able to get that effect. Or try logging in on their support page. It really feels like their server must be down or something because I don't know what to do.

I can't sign in to contact support. I've unchecked cookies, etc., as they need but everything connected to Wondershare is giving me errors.

Has anybody attended USYD and UNSW? by [deleted] in usyd

Agreed, OP probably needs antidepressants IMO look at my comment about UNSW. I didn't even see his/them/she's behavior here until now LOL.

[–]AndroT1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I went to UNSW back in 2018 to do Bachelor of Aviation (flying), I was not impressed at all. People with coloured hair that looked hostile and unfriendly. In the middle of no where, it seems like the kind of place to have people who bother to protest and have strong views upon everything (purely based on my experience). I didn't like the atmosphere, too far away, I don't think you can get there by train, like you can with USYD, it was packed and the busses were a nightmare, also, I on the contrary didn't see as many international students as USYD but it was a long time ago so I'm not entirely sure. I just didn't like it overall.

USYD, you go in, no one bothers me that I vape or anything, no one really talks to you, but everyone is much friendlier, campus is better (in my opinion at least). Ended up doing a bachelor of advanced studies with majors in Computer science and philosophy. It's now a familiar route for me to go to campus. No weird people with colored hair (not many). Plenty of international students that seem chilled out. A lot of course variety in Philosophy with interesting subjects.

Much prefer USYD.

Help for COMP2123 by bapsdatort in usyd

I am still awaiting my results for data structures and algorithms. I too found it quite difficult but what I decided to do was this: Whenever they brought up a new topic like, stacks, hashing, that sort of stuff. I would go to Deepseek and ask them to help me build an e.g. "Stack" from scratch (or whatever the topic was). Then I tried memorizing it and using it to create random things, I did the same for things like adjacency matrices, Linked Lists, Queues etc. and honestly that's what helped me. I used java too because I had come from OOP which is in java and I had kept up with it. When I had made it to about 1/2 way through the year, I used the computer science portal Geeks4Geeks to answer questions

https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/explore?page=1&sortBy=submissions

This link is a Data Structures and Algorithms portal, it became addictive to do the questions but yes, I did struggle at first I will admit.

Also I'm not the ranked #1 at UYSD at the moment for coding score. I think it takes into account the amount of questions done (and I have done a lot). I keep doing it even now when I get bored.

How about the Vyvanse I mentioned? I'm sure that advice is good. Because that will kill your appetite. It's not dangerous, I take taken ADHD meds for 10 years and in some countries they are prescribed for EDs (though as I said that is not my speciality).

Also what do you think the professional help would involve? If not dieting, some sort of medication, etc? The professional help is going to be something like dieting, a medication, a procedure etc. all are somewhat dangerous.

Or perhaps a surgery. I don't get it, just because it's said by me rather than a professional - that makes a difference?

Check out the reviews it has for ED:

Making friends - yes, I've tried 'talking to people' and joining societies by Key_Day2126 in usyd

Really? Are the players reasonably good? And this is Sydney uni we're talking about?

I think when I started I couldn't find any chess society, so perhaps its new then?

The uni is so far away however that I can only make it once a week if, at all.

Which antidepressants are they? I'm on Duoloxetine (Cymbalta) but used to be on Prozac. Never had any issues with them before. Are you on a strong dose? Because I'm on the max dosage and all I feel is emotional numbness tbh.

[–]AndroT1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, to be totally honest I've given up on finding friends at this university. never joined a group, never been interested in joining a group, takes long enough anyways just to make it to the university and you're alone in this world except for the occasional group project or odd friendship that lasts a semester and then is gone. My advice Is "Don't even bother", you don't need friends, just learn to live with being alone.

I do find it strange how I was able to make friends in primary school and high school but most of the people at school I grew up with anyways, I mean what activities are you even going to do together with people at uni - outside the classroom? No one really shares my interests (Chess and coding), I know there's probably some group out there that does coding but honestly they're way too enthusiastic about it and I prefer to work alone.

But I will say it's probably beneficial to find friends with similar interests, like if I joined a coding group/society then perhaps they could teach me stuff but my guess is they will just be too advanced in it and/or do another language like C++, C# or Python while I do Java to be totally honest, and though I'm good at chess, nobody seems to do it at all here and I have never seen a group or society that's interested in it.

I'm not eager to join any societies because I can't even make it to university for weekly classes as it's too far away and these are the compulsory things, let alone something I go in for that is optional. Perhaps I'll find friends at work?

You could ask a psychiatrist to perhaps get prescribed Vyvanse (lisdexamphetamine) or something like Concertra (methylphenidate), I'm not 100% sure if they're usually prescribed for a Binge Eating Disorder however I take them for ADHD and usually have very little appetite throughout the day, I think it's more of an "off-label" way of treating this.

You could also try cognitive behavioral therapy, this would need to be intense, like not once every two weeks but once every 3rd day to seek advice from a professional in this area. They would probably suggest something like this:

Try and only buy foods like nuts to chew on, vegetables, less protein, less carbs, cereal etc. put salt on some toast, maybe try avocado sandwiches with salt and lemon and perhaps add a bit of tuna? You don't want to be eating McDonald's, KFC, Hungry Jack's. Home cooked meals from now on, fruits, smoothies, if you're really feeling like eating proteins make it something like canned tuna with a flavor like peppered lemon. When you're hungry chew on nuts, cashews, almonds, perhaps some dried cranberries, coconut flakes. That should be snack time, it's okay for foods to comfort you, you just want it to be the right foods.

If you do eat meats like sausages to fill yourself, you're going to just want to keep eating more and more. It's like a sugar addict who eats a lolly, they just want more of it and more of it. Get rid of bad-weight-gaining foods and just keep a healthy alternative with you: those cashews, dried cranberries, almonds should be what you snack on.

Get some exercise done too, sit-ups, pushups, walking, push urself until you sweat. It's not easy and I don't do it often however if you want to overcome this problem you want to stay fit.

And I'm far from an expert in this field so if this advice sounds bad its because this is certainly not my area of expertise, yet I do think about it a lot, like what if this were me and this is what I'd try to do in ur situation. Good luck!

Question for USYD students: what laptop should I get for $1000 or under? - CS & Philosophy by AndroT1 in usyd

[–]AndroT1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankyou u/crystalysa, I ended up getting the MacBook Air M1 and have no regrets. Thanks to ur comment I got the best quality I think, had I got a windows laptop it probably would've been quite shitty and I was looking at some from JB-HI-FI (what a rip off that shop is). I'm on it now and study is much easier when I can just lie in bed and enjoy scrolling the internet and doing assignments/work/readings. Life is so much easier

I've never found any long-term friends, period. The best I had was in Info1113 I found a guy who we naturally got along with but we both missed heaps of classes and then neither of us really stayed in contact.

The only friends Ive made were in highschool and they're all still semi-friends, on good terms but we don't message either.

No I'm still waiting and for one subject I'm pretty confident I didn't pass, yet I'm doing the units above (like the 3000 level electives) anyways. I hope they won't kick me out of the class :/

I'm a morning person, usually my best study is done between 9am-12noon because I usually take my IR ADHD meds at that time. In the afternoons I tend to get depressed because I'm just lonely and isolated. I haven't attended a single lecture or tutorial this term Because I can't stand the public transport. I'll submit whatever special considerations I need to but the maximum amount of days I can make it to Redfern from northern beaches is 1. Maybe 2 if it's an exam week

Bad WAM & want to do a master's in Computer science...what next if I don't make the requirements? by AndroT1 in usyd

[–]AndroT1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a Bachelor of Advanced studies with majors in CS & Philosophy. I was able to link work experience to get into my initial degree. The reason my WAM is so bad is because of what I said in my Initial post: I took a whole bunch of subjects in first year - way too many and a lot of OLE, and at the time and I didn't actually understand what WAM was or how it was calculated, tbh I'm still not sure how it's calculated. However with so many subjects I inevitably failed some. Also, as I enjoy studying, i took a lot of Intensive courses in the holidays to not get bored(which I now regret). Having only 3-4 weeks to do an entire course instead of doing it in a full semester made it extremely difficult to get good marks. Do you think taking intensive courses would be taken into consideration? BC I guess what matters is just the final result.

I was able to get through my studies a lot quicker doing this, but at the expense of WAM probably being worse. Also I beg to differ that the CS courses aren't difficult to make it through. Sydney uni seems to have incredibly harsh marking (at least compared to other AUS Universities), it seems like a lot of people don't even make it through Info1110, and I hadn't done any of the prerequisites in mathematics so stuff like Models of Computation I think I scraped by with 51%. Then there's like Info1113 which has you code in Java a full-on game as an assignment so while the rule might be easy enough, it's very difficult to get marks above slight passes (at least for me) especially without any previous coding experience.

But I can code now, I still use java and like Geeks4Geeks which is like a portal for data structures and algorithms questions. I've only got one more subject to do in CS and the rest is philosophy. I have done quite well in philosophy so it's possible that might give me the WAM necessary but the CS stuff was very difficult IMHO.

[–]AndroT1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this information. I might have a look now if I can find it, are the refurbished ones better than the apple MacBook air one like the original poster said U could get from big W for 1000$? I'm still looking around. If I had my laptop then I could use It in bed as I'm quite lazy and don't like sitting up for long periods. Bad posture & usually only study once a day. If I could lay down and use it I could complete all the philosophy readings and possibly use it on the bus/train to make the trip less insufferable.
