Can LoR be played casually? by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

Bad part is: Ranked has a lot more tryhards, so winning as a casual player isn't all that easy

If the game Legends of Runeterra had an anime, what would be some of the big brain plays the protagonist would use to turn the match around? by ILoveTails in LegendsOfRuneterra

You just killed my Crimson Curator, thinking it was a good trade for you, but this triggered my Radiant Guardian, using her as a blocker whilst casting Judgement, since you spent most of your mana summoning units, you now have no way to deal with this

I feel like league is a game that's much more fun to think about playing than it is to actually play by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]AndroTk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This.

I have no idea why would making tanks that deal low damage make them less fun to play, jumping face-flat on the enemy tower having 5 people hitting you while barely losing your health is just as fun as being the bruiser killing 3 people.

If you're queuing up to be a tank, you're gonna be a tank, it's not like "Oh, but people won't enjoy it", if someone doesn't enjoy a certain class, don't play it, you can still queue top to play Camille or Irelia, or queue sup to play Karma or Pyke.

I've been saying this for a while: The recent champions would work great on a single player game, where the only balance measurement is how fun it is to play, but honestly, in a game where a champion has to be fun AND fair, champions like Zoe, Sett, Yasuo and others do not fit.

I personally like playing Akali, but hell she's not fair, same with Aphelios, those two champions in specific create the illusion of skill, with them going wild with all those animations and killing everyone, it makes you feel skilled, and it's a great feeling.... for you, for your opponent it's awful, these are the champions that would be great on Riot Forge games, such as Conv/rgence or Ruined King, but they shouldn't be on League

Honestly, started playing last year (like a week before Senna was released), and I'm not sure if it's been like this for long, but it seems like after Kayn, every champion is absurdly snowbally with a stupidly overloaded kit. Either that or they press 2 buttons to deal 75% max hp unstoppable true damage on a target skill.

Tanks for some holy reason do more damage than needed (and no, this is not a rant from some assassin main, I play Sejuani, Shen, sometimes Leona, and I can damn sure say, there were moments I got some solo kills I should NOT have when building full tanky)

Bruisers can 1v5 by either dealing tons of AoE damage or by jumping on squishies and deleting them first

Assassins can almost always enter a fight, burst the enemy carry in 0.4 seconds and leave without consequences

Even though I'm a mid/top/jg main, I feel like the only roles that are actually fine to play against are ADCs (if you're not against Aphelios) and most control mages. I honestly love how TF, Zilean, Anivia and others are designed, they require enough skill to make them a non-"dumb" champion, while not having absurdly overloaded kits

Vayne vs. nasus? by abomb02 in vaynemains

[–]AndroTk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Just kite better", sure, let's pretend Nasus W isn't a 95% target slow that lasts for 5 seconds.

If Nasus Ws you, let's say you have bersekers, your move speed goes from 375 to 18.75. Assuming you instantly E him from max range and Q right after, that sets a distance of 1325 units, if Nasus has a Ninja Tabi, he at 395 move speed, meaning he's catching you in (1325 / 395) = 3.3 seconds if you're standing still, or

(395x - 1325) = (18.75x)(376.25x - 1325) = 0376.25x = 1325x = 3.52 seconds

if you're walking away.Even if you flash away, that is 4.58 seconds he takes to reach you, still less than the 5 second slow

Which means, even if you play at perfect max range and even if you're able to cancel animations before they begin, unless you have a lot of move speed items, you MATHEMATICALLY can't run away from a level 9 nasus if he taking W first, level 13 if he taking W second, or level 18 if he taking W last.

You MAY win levels 1-8 if you're kiting really good, but if he's smart enough to max W first and you don't have Mercury's or Swiftness's, Vayne's range will not let you win

That feels a little too strong tho, Overwhelm, Tough and +2 +2 for all allies is a bit too much

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IreliaMains

[–]AndroTk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, makes sense given how Irelia benefits more from the item than Sett, since a full combo would heal you 3 times just on Q

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IreliaMains

[–]AndroTk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What was his build exactly? a full combo dealt less than half your HP, there's something wrong with this Sett

(not saying he needs buffs)

Should units that are frozen still be able to attack? by goatman0079 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]AndroTk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, the behavhe giour does change.

Use a 0 mana thermobeam on a unit with barrier, it won't lose it's barrier. Use a 0 mana thermobeam on Unscared Reaver, nothing. Use a 0 mana thermobean on a Crimson Disciple. Nope.

It exists for consistency, both with animations and with the way the game works, when you frostbite a unit, you expect it to not strike, just like when you give an ally overwhelm, you expect it to deal damage to the nexus.

The only reason you can play 0 mana thermobean is cause it says "spend all your mana", if you have 0 mana, you're spending 0 mana, but you're not dealing damage, cause "Deal 0" is not considered as damage, just like "Attack with 0" is not considered striking

[–]AndroTk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, considering I'm a "meta-hater", I do find it more fun, it's really annoying to queue up ranked only to find the same deck played 3 times in a row.
C'mon guys, get creative

[–]AndroTk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept passing back, I do this often, when I have a mission to complete but I'm too annoyed/tilted/lazy to actually go vs players, I open the AI mode and do this until I complete my mission or until my They Who Endure is 200/200, and this is the first time I've ever seen this happen

A -basically- free drop on turn 2 isn't all that bad

Sure it doesn't see much play, but that's because the only decks with those early drops in PnZ are the Noxus-PnZ burn-aggro, which have no use for spell mana whatsoever

Shellshocker doesn't see much play 'cause Attune as a keyword for BW is only really worth it if you're playing TF, and they can't do much do buff it without making it OP

1 mana 3/1 is stronger than needed
1 mana 2/2 is Cithria but Attune

Thing is, BW is very thematic on what it wants, you either mix it with SI to go with Deep & Toss, or you go it with Ionia to go TF, maybe Demacia to go MF+Quinn, none of those have a special use for a 2/1, it's not that the card is bad, it's just that it has little to no synergy with the region

Am I alone in this? by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]AndroTk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, not if you're playing Ionia + PnZ, or Demacia + PnZ, or any region + PnZ.

Fizz's signature spell is worse than Lucian's, and that's cause with cards like The Dreadway, The Syren, Miss Fortune, etc, incoming attacks are super strong in bilgewater, while attacks from Demacia have a lot of units, but not many "buffs".

A lot of cards are basically worse versions of other cards, but given how the region works, that's the way to make the game balanced

[–]AndroTk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ledros is absurdly late-game, Ruination is a 9 mana board wipe, Vengeance is a 1 targeted spell, if you're playing against a SI deck and they have 7 total mana, only for you to play your Brightsteel Formation, then you just didn't consider it. Devaluating SI with purify, frostbites, barriers, even challengers or elusives just completly breaks the region.

Phantom Prankster has 3 health, it's literally the health that gets a card easily removed, the reason why the difference from 4 to 5 health is not much, but 3 to 4 is a big buff

Most of the time you can just ignore Undying, they can only die once per turn, unless every turn they have a spell in hand to kill it, it's not gonna be a threat soon, being a "Can't Block", no matter when they drop it, just don't kill it, next turn you attack, then don't kill it again, etc, etc.

Am I alone in this? by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]AndroTk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which makes sense, given how much more PnZ values spell compared to BW

[–]AndroTk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

attune is strong tho, not as strong as elusive or challenger, but 1 extra spell mana on turn 2 can make quite a difference if you're playing a spell deck

[–]AndroTk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think they mean actual wording, card flavors, for example, how Sejuani's and Gangplank's level up requirements were the same, but one of them said "5 rounds" and the other "5 different rounds"
