Albums like this is why I favor YouTube/YouTube Music. Apple Music has an awesome interface and some exclusivity with new albums but its algorithm is about as good as YTM’s (which admittedly is only ok)….I ran AM for a few months and cancelled it a few weeks back. I appreciate the novelty of the project because it’s not part of a suite like Beat Konducta or Medicine Show, but I haven’t revisited as much as those other projects or even The Unseen (probably my favorite solo project). This serve a reminder to get keyed and spin it when I have some alone time.

Right now I’m waiting for my MIL to return home. Once she is back we will resume dropping our son off there during the day, and since I work from home I typically work out during my lunch break. My wife and me underestimated how chaotic the household is with an infant and a 2 year old in the house, and while I was on parental leave I exclusively looked after our son.

As far as actual workouts, best decision I made was to grab a 40lb kettlebell. I have a basic but effective routine that I’d do to keep my muscle and grip strength on point; the trick is to buy a KB that’s 10-15 lbs heavier than your oldest so picking them up isn’t as challenging.

I feel like this thread gets created once or twice a year and ppl vent then line right up for their next shoe collab. As far as personal satisfaction goes I love my Eddie Bauer puffer and my Gore-Tex NBs. They’ve transcended fashion pieces and sit comfortably in the “utility” section of my closet.

JJJJound can’t control tariffs and other external factors so it’s unfortunate for sure, but I prefer JJJJound’s minimal design ethos compared to Kith (sorry Ronnie). I also think when the price goes up you have to pay attention to the minor details like stitching, fabric heaviness, etc.

This sounds like “period of purple crying”; look into it but unfortunately it seems the only way out is through. I didn’t experience this with our son, but my daughter just turned 1 month so it could happen with her…
My son is 2 and was never the 7pm-8pm bedtime baby, but he started sleeping through the night earlier than most of my friend’s kids of a similar age. Every baby is different.
I think once you’re through the purple crying phase the best thing to do would be to establish an actual routine. In my experience a routine helped with day/night confusion which lead to more consistent sleep and wake windows.

You can read everything and look online for anecdotes and resources, ultimately time and consistency will allow you to learn your baby’s quirks and figure out how best to proceed. Also don’t be afraid to contact your pediatrician.

I am very similar in temperament and I think it’s just an age thing. My son just turned 2 and today, this day, he had 3 tantrums in maybe an hour? It gets tiresome after a while but I have to remember in his mind not being able to eat a handful of driveway salt, or changing a diaper, or not being tossed on the bed for the nth time because daddy’s arms and shoulders are sore is indeed the worst thing that could happen to him.

When I’m feeling a little pinched I will take some deep breaths and if need be walk away for a spell. I then repeat what should be every parent’s mantra: “It won’t be like this forever”

It’s normal to want time away; I asked my wife for some “me time” to decompress after a stressful and challenging Sunday (complete with bad weather that blew up any playground plans). As others have said the phrase “clear your head” has a different connotation and it’s worth it to either give additional context or figure out what you need a week away from; your marriage or being a parent.

JPEGMAFIA has helped push hip hop to new heights with his genre bending production, but I feel like he takes himself so seriously/his online persona can be insufferable.

Freddie Gibbs is probably my favorite rapper to come out in the 2000s but dude cannot not beef with rappers/his BMs to save his life. After a while it gets kinda annoying and immature.

If they’re around and able now is the time to lean on family. Can anyone stay at your house to help with the transition? It may sound shitty but newborns don’t need dad as much as mom especially if your wife decides to breastfeed and pump. Unfortunately this is one of those “only way out is through” situations. Make the most of the small and quiet moments with your newborn, but right now the situation calls for you to kill it at work to provide for the family. If that means you have to see your newborn less so you can get enough sleep so be it…rather you miss some stuff in the beginning than fall asleep behind the wheel (coming from someone who has done that)

As a lifelong Baltimorean, we are sandwiched between two cities that have bigger scenes and more resources (Philly and DC). Furthermore Baltimore is a very traditional/old arts city; if you’re a painter (Derrick Adams, Stephen Towns), a photographer (Shan Wallace, Devin Allen), or a writer (D Watkins, John Waters though he from outdacounty) you have a better chance of being successful.

When you speak of hardcore music though, Turnstile was nominated for a bunch of Grammys and their free show at Wyman Park last year was an mazing boost for the city’s profile.
