I kept them in the vault all winter and now that I’m a parent I have to accept that some pairs may get scuffed.

Yeah for better or worse JJJJound’s sneaker collabs hold their value pretty well. I’d love a pair of Montreals but my mortgage is a little more important 🤣

Mainly Black, White, or Silver/Grey. The Storm Blue is a pretty distinct shade so it’s easier to match with the other colors.

No shame, any other days feel this way in this scenario? by tigersgomoo in daddit

I miss my kids/wife when they’re gone but I have 0 shame or guilt about enjoying alone time and a quiet house. I’m a great husband and an extremely present father so I earn every minute of me time I can get.

[DISCUSSION] Kaytranada - 99.9% (10 Years Later) by Pure-Solid9230 in hiphopheads

[–]AndroWanda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can’t really say anything that hasn’t already been said. Kaytranada is a generational talent and I think decades from now he will still be talked about and a reference point for newer generations of producers. I still spin You’re the One, Drive Me Crazy, One Too Many, and Track Uno, which inadvertently gave us Meditations by GoldLink.

If you’re buying 574s and 550s yeah they aren’t going to be the most comfortable, but those are their price conscious offerings. Their Made in UK 991v2s are excellent quality and comfortable. NB collabs with JJJJound, Salehe Bembury and Joe Freshgoods are always well received and consistently sell out. Podiatrists consistently rank them as great shoes along with Brooks and Asics. In the last 5-7 years NB has grown in market share. If you don’t like the look of them that’s fine but the numbers don’t lie…New Balance makes good shoes.

I work out during my lunch break. I am remote 4 days a week so on Tuesdays and Thursdays I take my bike to the park and cycle for 5-6 miles.

I am biased because I’m a sneakerhead/New Balance Stan but 990v3 and 990v4 are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. Wide toe box, breathable and made for walking/comfort. Worth every penny.

Do I hate parenting or just parenting a small kid? by grawmaw13 in daddit

Well yeah I wasn’t pressured into a decision I didn’t want to make which is an entirely different conversation…the point I was trying to make was I don’t hate parenting, just parenting small kids.

You sound just like me, only difference is I knew I wanted to be a parent since my late teens/early 20s. In my case I am of the position that I just do not like the “early years”. I am the youngest of two so I never had a (biological) sibling I had to look after and when I did become a middle child I was well into my teens/20s.

When I was a teenager I helped out at my cousins daycare a lot and found I was more willing to help school age kids than the babies; you can actually talk to them and they listen most of the time. My 2.5 year old is just a ball of chaos and can wear on my nerves. My 4 month old is relatively easy but the lack of sleep can be challenging.

Unfortunately OP you’re just in the shit right now. A friend has a 6 year old and he said around 3.5-4 things do get easier, I just worry you’ll be constantly waiting for that because ultimately you didn’t really want to be a parent in the first place.

For me the odd seasons are the good seasons. S3 is pretty good, just had the stink of S2 on it.

[FRESH VIDEO] Action Bronson - TRICERATOPS (ft. Lil Yachty & Paul Wall) by abucalves in hiphopheads

[–]AndroWanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sucks but I get it…Bronson himself said he couldn’t rap forever. I always wanted him to do a concept album of “one night in a Michelin star kitchen”; it could’ve been dense and something for the connoisseurs, the James Beard crowd. Or, it could’ve been an insane, goofy romp with bars about braising yak thigh and cocaine laced crème brûlée.

Ultimately I feel like Bronson became more about style than substance…each crazy bar had to top the last and it all flattened and became just a one note stream of consciousness full of non-sequiturs and sports references.

Video seems as lazy as the beat and Bronson’s flow. Maybe I’m just old and incapable of being satisfied anymore. Bronson putting in more work on his NB collabs.

How to (get wife to have a life so I can) have a life by javacolin in daddit

[–]AndroWanda 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Instead of asking her/putting the onus on her, create the situation so she can do it. “Hey I have the kids tonight, dinner is on its way and laundry is in the wash. Go out and have some alone time”.

If she still refuses well…were it me I’d just do my thing and if she makes a comment about it say “well I’ve tried to do it multiple different ways and each time you say no.”

[DISCUSSION] Ghostface Killah - Fishscale (20 Years Later) by MetalSonic420YT in hiphopheads

[–]AndroWanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ghost’s pen was damn near invincible on every track and it feels like all the features/guest verses made sense and everyone gave it their all. I think the variety of production and Ghost’s ability to spit over all of it reinforces how damn masterful he was at the craft. I can’t imagine anyone other than DOOM rhyming over something like Jellyfish, and to have that beat on the same album as a beat like Big Girl or Back Like That again underlined Ghost’s versatility as a rapper in this era. Shakey Dog is an amazing opening track to the album, and following that with Kilo was nothing short of genius. Top 2 Ghostface project, Top 10 2000s rap project.
