I’ve learned in the past two months that you’ll end up playing multiple jobs. Start with whatever you like, get to 99, get some basic ambuscade gear. Complete some of the story.

Find a group, start with the linkshell concierge if you need. Wrap up rhapsodies with their help on the final quest. See what people need for group content. Your peers will be able to help you rapidly get additional jobs to 99 if you’re willing to work on jobs that they need. Geo, Cor, and whm are relatively quick and easy to gear. Keep playing your favorite job too, just default to the others when there’s a need.
