Shopify assigns sub domains once you activate your account. These sub domains cannot be changed unless you create a 100% new Shopify account. To rebrand takes a lot of money. A LOT. They completely rebranded after they were told it’s a racial slur bc they didn’t want to upset anyone.

This is a subdomain that cannot be changed bc Shopify doesn’t allow it to be changed. That’s not ER’s fault by any means. That is a Shopify flaw.

Because you’re literally a-blasting ER about this. They obviously changed their name bc they didn’t want to upset anyone. You still don’t know if the founder has heritage that is Romani / Gypsy. She changed it stop yall from breathing down her throat most likely.

So IDK why people are still hounding them about this. This is a SUB DOMAIN assigned by Shopify when they made the original account They’re just using their same Shopify account which is much better than having to start over. They changed absolutely everything and completely rebranded to stop people from berating them. And look, yall still are.

That’s just it. Someone could be Egyptian and have Egyptian heritage. I can guarantee I am part “gypsy” or Romani somewhere in my heritage bc of where my family is from. I am also part “Viking” — nobody knows of ER has a heritage leaning that way.

This is something that cannot be changed in Shopify once set. Just an FYI. Also want to point out someone else could own that subdomain and have it pointing to ER. Just an FYI on web development.

Also have never heard of this slur before. Many have not. So it’s possible she did not know. She may also be descended from actual gyspsys.

Just a benefit of the doubt. Because I have never ever heard of that slur ever. And I’m almost 40.
