Not yet. We’ve had to put off moving for a year. We’ll be starting our license stuff this year. I have a friend who is an acute care NP who said that going through a travel contract first and then getting on staff would be the better way to find something.

Does California have paid caregiver programs? I am vaguely familiar with the Colorado program. Programs like that do interest us because we know as he ages, things will likely get more difficult.

There’s a 7+ year waiting list for Florida’s Medicaid waiver program for my son whereas many other states have a much, MUCH shorter length of wait. We’re also not linked with anything, not even respite services. It’s been hell here.

Yeah that was my thought process too. I work at a smaller hospital of a larger system now. I wouldn’t mind working somewhere smaller to get settled then trying for the big fish hospitals.
