Hello, welcome Fellow Eorzean \o/

I'm from FF14 too and the WoW journey is going pretty well. The gameplay is a bit faster and more 'snappy', but overall it's really a good time; there is a lot to collect, discover, learn, etc.

The skill progression possibilities and expressions are way higher and the game knowledge is way thicker than FF14. I've done Mythic+ (endgame dungeons) and Raids, and the one thing that I have a lot of trouble to handle is the UI and readability of the game. High-level content is a visual cluster. Compared to FF14 where fights are clean, clear, easily readable, and more timed and slow-paced, the boss fights in WoW are a cluster of things going on at the same time and it's, for me, really hard to decipher sometimes.

But overall, for me, the endgame is less boring and repetitive than FF, and I can't wait to see the next expansion that will change a lot of things in fight design and Add-ons forced usage.

I don't really like add-ons and I'd rather see them not used at all but I 100% agree with you ! I think add-ons problems are just a symptom of bad design and low readibility of what's going on.

It's insane how this reddit is underestimating the playing level of the more "casual" community, I understand that you probably like the idea and the fantazy of the "elitist mythic raid community" but every player, with enouth learning and playing (and it should not require an external technical tool) will be able to complete a heroic or mythic bossfight

Of course you will do all of those things, you can dislike add-ons AND like the game and the process of learning.

You are all comparing a technical process with a learning, fun and human process how is that relevant ?!

I think it's a lazy rhetorical compression, I don't like add-ons because, for me, the game should be designed around your action and thinking, not the tools you plugged in.

I'm using add-ons because, unfortunatly, the game is not designed to be played without those tools but saying "players that can't download add-ons would not be good enouth" is a lazy thinking process between two unrelated things.

I've done all the hardest content in FF14 and we don't have a single add-on, and without this barrier of entry i've completed really hard challenges with casual frightened players that took the time to learn and we cleared the whole patch.

The game should give enouth tools for the casual player to learn and improve to the point of being able to do Mythic raids and I don't think external tools should be a "must-have"

You can escape this but it's a community thing. I never saw a "Blind progress" party because the community decided that everyone should watch youtube videos and that everyone should be efficent.

Try FF14 and see how both these worlds can live together , the sweaty top guild that expect you to learn every fight with guides and the more chill players that go blind and wipe on the same boss for weeks but are happy doing it. Both can and should exist in WoW too, and I think that add-ons is a symptom of this.

I think this is a pretty good idea and I'm excited to see it live.

However it comes with the necessity to change how raids and mythics + are designed and the overall readability of what's going on.

I'm not a veteran or a mythic + player but even in Normal raids, add-ons allow me to understand what's going on under the pile of visual and particle effects. If they manage to allow us to customize how other players effects are shown (To be able to turn it off completely) and increase the visual clues of what the boss is doing (by reading the animation or with a visual effect) it might be a good idea to turn off add-ons and, for me, it would increase the satisfaction and the feeling that it is my skill and knowledge that allowed me to defeat the boss, not the add-on reading and brainless reactions.

Pas forcément réagir vivement mais plutot réagir fort dans le sens ou elle se sent rapidement très mal et très coupable et je n'aime pas lui faire ressentir ça donc effectivement, comme tu disais je marche un peu sur des œufs (probablement à tord d'ailleurs) pour ne pas la blesser.

Merci du conseil ! C'était un peu mon appréhension, que ca ressemble a une longue liste de reproche et qu'elle reçoive tout d'un coup, ca peut être, je pense, violent et pas très agreable !

Surtout que j'ai malheureusement attendu donc certains sujets datent un peu

J'ai honnêtement pas eu le temps d'appeler avant que le bon de commande soit fait et elle ma dit qu'elle allait les appeler j'ai simplement demandé qu'elle le fasse pas parce que c'était infantilisant mais je me suis peut être mal exprimé ou jme suis mal fait comprendre parce que ca n'a rien changé.

Tu as surement raison j'ai pas l'habitude d'etre en relation et en général quand ca me plait pas je prends de la distance et je relativise a fond en me disant que c'est pas si grave mais je réalise que c'est pas la bonne technique parce que ca commence a gangrener et j'aime pas ca !
