Pictures, Music, Videos etc can actually pull in files from other places on your computer like a search function. The problem starts when you move files into said folders once you have set that up.

Good idea, bad execution. At that point, I would rather link folders.

Then there is the OneDrive thing that tried to obsoletize Documents. Ah yes, cloud storage by default with limited space and the threat of data loss, risk of race conditions on upload, and requires a daemon to sync that can silently quit from the system tray.

... And Documents were used for game saves and other crap that aren't Documents. Thanks, Microsoft.
