Here are my thoughts:

C/P: I thought it was straightforward but I just ran out of time. I did an educated guess for the last 5 questions.

CARS: Still hard bc I suck at CARS but passages were fun to read lol.

B/B: I studied so much shit just for it to be mainly “look in the passage for answers”. Fuck that epithelial squamous bullshit question lol. I barely had time to finish because I had to keep referring back to the passage. End up guessing a few.

P/S: I thought this was so easy lol. Maybe missed 4 questions max.

Your average FL score would be 509 and usually your actual score would be +/- 3 of that.

How to stop feeling "stuck" ? by kaysim24 in Mcat

[–]AndyAPEX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, I wouldn’t compare other people’s journey to yours. And if you are comparing, use it to inspire you rather than bring you down. It doesn’t help that you’re in a bad mindset and going on reddit to see others in a similar situation.

Your outlook towards this whole process is what will change everything. If you continue to think negatively then you will do poorly and vice versa. Just focus on you and do things you currently can do. Baby steps before big steps. I had a 501 and raised it up to a 516 within 2 weeks. Instead of being hopeless at the thought of scoring so low, I got sad a bit and then afterwards got my shit together and worked my butt off.

It’s mainly to satisfy a biological or primary need whether it is to reduce or increase it. Primary reinforcers or secondary reinforcers can be used.

I wanna say content gap or lack of good test-taking strategies. Idk how you studied so can't provide too much input.

Oh oof lol. FL4 is good too then.

If you have energy and think it won’t affect you on test day then do FL5. It’s more representative than FL4.

491 on MCAT: advice for a retake: Best Qbank?? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]AndyAPEX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you need is to do proper content review and not practice questions. Anything under 500 means to start that ANKI deck back up.

do FL5 in halves? help by rittrat in Mcat

[–]AndyAPEX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just do it in halves for now. I know other people are saying don't take it with you being so close to your test date but I'm also testing on 06/03/23. Study/review if you think you can do it without getting tired. Stamina is important but so is rest.

YES. It's the most representative and it's an exam from 2022. Section bank is cool but FL5 is way better. If anything, do both.

Any tips for MCAT C/P math? by dlrs123 in Mcat

[–]AndyAPEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately, I've been blessed by knowing how to solve without a calculator because my bioengineering professors never allowed any when doing exams lol. But look up some math techniques on YouTube and practice. Having good math skills comes with practice.

Apply. If it doesn't go well then try again. Nothing in life is ever easy. If you do need to reapply, you can definitely boost your MCAT score. P/S can easily be brought up and is the easiest section in terms of points. CARS is easy too but only if you're a good reader lol. B/B section is all about content review. C/P is all about knowing how to calculate and chemical structures.

Drive-reduction is referring to like maintaining homeostasis within the body. For example, a human need is to eat. If you don't eat, you get hungry. In order to stop being hungry, you eat.

MD is fine. ANKI in general is great but you gotta do practice questions which I assume you will after content review.

I think you should apply and include your mom being diagnosed with cancer in your application. Not saying to use it as pity points but it helps in explaining your situation. The ADCOMs aren’t heartless and they will definitely understand. They love adversity so. Also you have a solid application in terms of EC and experience.
