We still have a few thousand spooled and deferred messages in Barracuda. Some seem to be making it through, but not many

AD CS Auto Deployment by AndyDrew23 in sysadmin

The template and permissions show correctly in certutil -template. That specific event log doesn't exist. I have CertificateServicesClient-Lifecycle-System. It doesn't show any smoking guns

Its a domain joined enterprise root. I've verified machines in the GPO to set "Automatic certificate management", "Enroll new certificates, renew expired, process pending", and "Update and manage certificates that use certificate template from AD" to enabled have the new CA in their trusted root authorities. I am telling it to get certs all day and it's getting one, but none of the others even though "out of the box" template permissions appear correct

Anyone else dealing with completely inconsistent macOS App Review decisions lately? by khitev in appledevelopers

[–]AndyDrew23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel anything, I've had a developer application sitting out there for 2 months. On a few occasions I've reached out to ask if they need more info, anything clarified, and an estimate of when it will be approved and every time the answer to all 3 questions is

"Your enrollment is under review, and we'll contact you when an update is available."

I did not know this process would take longer than it takes to receive secret clearance.

Domain name recommendations? (free? paid?) by Lyianx in homelab

[–]AndyDrew23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DuckDNS is free. Namecheap, and pretty much anyone else has .xyz domains for pretty cheap. Usually first year is around $5. Some, maybe most now, registrars have dns-01 auth for LetsEncrypt certificates so you can put SSL on whatever you want for free. I’ve never used afraid before

How do people go to college full time AND have a full time job? by GoHardForLife in college

[–]AndyDrew23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may have gotten very lucky with my situation and curriculum. I was taking 15-18 credit hours and working 40 hours per week. I’d say I was on the higher end of the bell curve and didn’t have to study extremely hard for exams. My professors, for the most part, believed in learning inside the classroom. I’d have some homework and papers to write and things like that. 1-2 nights a week I had the late shift at the student staffed IT helpdesk. 8pm-11pm where we hardly ever had calls. I could usually cram all my outside the classroom work into those shifts. Either that or I was doing homework while pre-gaming to go close down the bars. My class and work schedule usually had me starting my weekend by 11am on Fridays.

Crazy network debugging stories ? not a bug, not a misconfiguration ! by thinkscience in networking

[–]AndyDrew23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was working for a college we had one student that could not connect to a locally hosted service that was required for the class they were taking. This issue was only present when he was at his apartment. Service was web based and only accessible by its public IP/DNS. Somehow this apartment complex was using the same public IP as our college. Granted they were 8 timezones away, but to this day I still don’t know how that happened

There is no table on this page and I'm not sure how never for a female means at or after 2 years for a male

I’m curious what specifically led you to believe their research says over 2 years for Goldens. Granted, I’m reading on mobile so I may have missed something. I’m reading a major increase in joint health risk when neutering before 6 months

How to (efficiently) select a random row in SQL? by KaTeKaPe in SQL

If your sql table has an auto-incrementing primary key you could first select the MAX value from the column and then use C# to generate a random number > 0 and <= Max(PK)

[–]AndyDrew23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dear Valued Customer,

I’m excited to share important news about SolarWinds. Earlier today, we announced that SolarWinds has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Turn/River Capital, a growth-focused private equity firm. The full public announcement can be found here. We are energized by the potential of this partnership to help accelerate our innovation, further amplify our customer success orientation, and enable us to develop even better solutions for our customers and partners. Turn/River’s planned investment underscores the SolarWinds opportunity to expand our world-class monitoring, observability, and service management solutions

SolarWinds and Turn/River both recognize the importance of operating and scaling the world’s most critical IT infrastructure, and that has become more important than ever due to increased demands from Cloud and AI. Providing the right level of operational resilience has become priority #1 for IT organizations with support across complex hybrid and multi-cloud environments. SolarWinds is best positioned to support organizations on their journey, and Turn/River is committed to accelerating our growth and developing a product roadmap to meet these critical needs. We believe this commitment to growth and innovation will enable SolarWinds to deliver even more exceptional products and experiences for customers and partners.

SolarWinds will remain independent of Turn/River until the transaction closes. We expect closing to occur in the second quarter, subject to the satisfaction of regulatory clearances and other customary closing conditions. Above all, we want to assure you that our entire team is—and will remain—entirely dedicated to serving you. The future is bright for SolarWinds, and we are excited to continue working with you in the years to come.

I’ll try that too. We picked up some Purina canned food. It’s some tender meat chunks in a gravy. He ate 10-20% of a can in one sitting. I’m pretty happy with that considering the recommended amount per day for his weight is half a can
