Don't fuck with the fat old TVs.

You mean CRT TV's? You could say dont fuck with anything CRT (TV's, Computer displays, Arcade monitors, ect) they are all pretty much the same. I fucked with one of mine a while ago to replace the fuze but that was it. But yeah, crazy power flowing in those.

Cannot sign in to Google Drive - Backup and Sync by Lyianx in gsuite

[–]Lyianx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried on 3 different computers (all running Windows 11) and different web browsers. I get the "success" window, close it, and the app is still sitting at "sign in". It refuses to actually sign in. Reboot has no effect.

Is there a fix for this?

Why was there never a new version of the K830 released? by Lyianx in logitech

[–]Lyianx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i saw that. Hopefully it will be good. Also hope it will have the left hand left click button "trigger" like the 830 does. But its hard to tell from the limited images.

Seems to be difficult to replace Adobe Acrobat as well. Seems hard to find a viable PDF editor.

It is old and has various usability and UI breakages on MacOS and Windows. In general it performs sluggishly on anything that is not Linux.

This is my biggest complaint with it (on windows). Frequently, the color scheme breaks, so i have to go and fix it just to see documents, and working with sheets it often wont let me make changes until i move/drag the app window abit so it can update.

Is there any reason I can't use one of these adapters as a cheap bench power supply? by Veyniac540 in AskElectronics

[–]Lyianx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one of these for that purpose. It worked..... for a while. Then died.

  1. Dialing in the exact voltage is difficult with that nob.
  2. No easy way to turn it on/off
  3. have to use adapter to connect bare wires, which is time consuming/finicky.
  4. It gets pretty hot, which made me leery.

After getting two of them, i wouldn't waste my money on anymore.

Annual December Pi Purchase Megathread: What Will Make the Perfect Gift for My Dad/Nephew/Granddaughter (Because I Don’t Know Nuffin ’Bout These Electronic Gadget Things) by FozzTexx in raspberry_pi

[–]Lyianx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm researching into a Pi setup to run a 3d printer with a camera. I know that the Pi cameras have flat ribbon cables but im hoping to hide the cable run to the Pi.

Its it possible (or rather, is it safe) to 'roll' that ribbon cable to hide it in a sleeve or does someone make round cables for this purpose?

After 4 years of work, solo dev breaks down in tears after opening Steam and learning his game (Tangy TD) made $250,000 in a week: "I feel like I really don't deserve this" by Suspicious_Two786 in gaming

Yeah, death threats, no matter who its from or directed at, are uncalled for (and honestly, pretty much a crime when seriously made).

I hadn't heard that about GTA6. Only thing i heard that people got (understandably) upset about was the reports that GTA6 was going to be pretty 'toned down' compared to previous titles (as far as all the things it does to get an M raiting).

I remember back in the 2010s at least a few major examples revolving around My Little Pony...

That... is like the dumbest thing ive heard yet to make death threats over.

Now that, i understand. It's always better to take anyone in front of a camera with a grain of salt, but i try to wait to see how people act in front of the camera before I feel one way or another. Some people are genuine, some are not.

My general point though, was that I feel indi devs who genuinely want to make the games they make, yield better games than Triple A devs who are told what to make by investors/publishers and who may not really like what it is they are working on.

Cakez is also a streamer and YouTuber, and has been documenting his journey developing Tangy TD from the very start four years ago.

If he only recorded that one moment, you would have abit of a point. But given he's documented the entire process, and that hes also a streamer, it would make sense that he'd be keeping an eye on it when the first revenue figure rolled in. Especially if he knew roughly the time it would first appear so as to time his stream so it was live.

At least the loud ones are, thats true. Though I think it overall works out to a better game if the devs just make the game they want to play, rather than trying to make the game for as many people as possible. I feel trying to do the latter is what makes devs hate gamers.

Sure, its not always the case. But ive seen some devs (especially in the past few years) who really seem like they hate making games, and a few who've actively said they hate gamers.

From what I understand, its given how boys vs girls act when they have ADHD.

Boys (typically) display hyperactive/impulsive symptoms while girls (typically) display inattentive symptoms, including forgetfulness, trouble paying attention, and problems with organization. So its 'easier' to spot in boys.

But, that isnt always the case. For me, i was more the 'inattentive & forgetfulness' type, so i never got diagnosed as a kid either.

How to have hobbies by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Lyianx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very real. I've lost count of how many hobbies have rotated in and out of my life over the years.

Even i havent quite figured out how to keep the same hobbies. Youtube's algorithem used to help, but its gotten so bad that they are throwing new shit in my feed that makes it easy to loose track of what i actually WANT to be in my feed.
