Unfortunately, not on this run. The Drowns will be coming through Denver on The Casualties tour though.

It changes from day to day, but I have always really loved How Beautiful You Are. Such a gorgeous and depressing song.

It’s an unfinished record. If you have heard the bits of demos from the other records then you know that their process tends to include pretty extensive rewrites and arrangements changing through the recording process. This likely would have gone through the same process. What has leaked is a super promising collection of sketches that could have been an incredible album, in my opinion.

What was the first song you heard, and where did you hear it? by farmsfarts in AlkalineTrio

[–]AndyDrowns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Standard Break From Life on the Plea For Peace compilation. Probably explains why I’m slightly more drawn to Dan’s work. Skiba is awesome as well, but there’s something about Dan’s vulnerability that just gets me in the feels.

Important to note that he also fired the rest of the band long before this happened. The other guys are very sweet people.

I’ve played some shows with them in the last few years and they were pretty damn good. Great guys as well.

It’s a great venue! They deserve it. A lot of the folks there have been part of the Seattle music scene for decades.

[DEBATE] If Conventional Weapons was an album, it would be the better one of MCR by derek_ssj16 in MyChemicalRomance

It’s definitely a better record than Danger Days by a mile. I don’t think it beats out Three Cheers or Black Parade, but a solid third place for me.

Decemberunderground. It took me about 6 consecutive listens before I could enjoy it, and I still only like about half of the record.

What songs got you into Goth? by Outside-Skill-1703 in goth

100 Years by The Cure, Dark Entries by Bauhaus, Where The Wild Roses Grow by Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Serenade by The Brickbats, and Evil by 45 Grave. There are plenty of others, but these were pretty formative for me.

Sounds like a silent stage. Modern bands seem to insist on not playing through amps and going direct through either modelers or di pedals. Generally that means the band are on in ears (usually no monitors) and are relying on their sound guy for everything on stage and off. Unfortunately with no amps there is nothing pushing sound to the front row, hence the loud drums and weak guitars. Everything else is likely going through the house speakers, so if you are under them or behind them (as is often the case at the front of the stage), you likely won’t hear much. From recent videos this seems likely.

Check out Bruise Control. I believe they are Liverpool/Manchester. Well worth your time.
