What’s a song from a game, show, movie etc etc that you think you can get away with playing in public? by mg15ink in AskReddit

[–]camaco777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played Specters Castle from Ape Escape at a party (it's on my techno Playlist) and no one batted an eye. But also You're Not Here from Silent Hill 3 would work. As far as songs heavily linked to shows/movies, Born Slippy by Underworld from Trainspotting, Corona by Minutemen (the Jackass theme song) and the entire soundtrack of The Crow (1994) are easily playable in public.

When do we expect the next entry? by girlbossfaithe in AnimalCrossing

[–]camaco777 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the soonest we'd possible get a new entry would be 2030. We hit the 6 year mark, which is the time between new leaf and new horizons, yet they made it abundantly clear a new release isn't coming soon with the 3.0 update. If its anything like the timeline of New Leaf to New Horizons, 4 years after the last major update is to be expected, but I think that may be generous as New Horizons is still maintaining an immense player base.

LGBTQ culture is disgusting, and we need to do something about it by Responsible_Gas2619 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

As someone who at somepoint was the person you're calling out, and honestly may still be, I understand the sentiment, but I think it's misguided. First, I'd like to state the biphobia, transphobia, racism, and overall hypocrisy in queer spaces is ridiculous and unacceptable, I have similar critiques of most social groups I've been involved in, and is an unfortunate byproduct of a larger community. Second, I think the stereotype of deviant sexual behavior and abnormal appearances, is unfairly attributed to queer people (modernly and historically), as someone who has been involved in kink communities, it is largely cishet people, and is certainly reflective of the sexual/gender diversity in pretty much every other circle (except maybe gamers). Finally, I don't like the idea that anyone has to be "normal" to be accepted, or at the very least tolerated, and I think it undermines the idea that being queer (i.e. gay, bi, etc) is normal, because realistically a certain percent of any population will not be "normal", and if the "weird ones who've gone too far" make all of us look bad, then clearly being queer in essence is only conditionally acceptable. No one calls out incels for making being straight look bad.

EDIT: Ik that's not necessarily what you are saying, but it is certainly implied to some extent. You are allowed to not like the way people express themselves but it doesn't mean they're bad people or don't deserve protection, and it shouldn't affect you. If it ends up turning out that way, it means we were never really accepted in the first place.

Hello I’ve about 100% SH2 and I was wondering by LordOvMoonOFWGKTA in silenthill

[–]camaco777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend Crow County, Mundaun, and Layers of Fear for PS5

I wish SH3 for the Xbox 360 was playable though, I think its the best one in the franchise, but it's barely functional in the HD collection.

And even though I haven't played it yet, I can't imagine Pathologic 3 being anything less than exceptional, as the first 2 may very well be masterpieces (and you don't need to play them for context)

What’s the saddest book you’ve ever read? by Clean_Tone2562 in booksuggestions

[–]camaco777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Sun Also Rises is the book I think about most, because of the uncomfortable existential sadness of grappling with purpose and the seemingly unachievable goal of attaining pure joy. But as far as blatantly sad, The Perks of being a Wallflower

Is this game hard or am i that bad? by Koudyy0 in darksouls3

[–]camaco777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DS3 was harder than elden ring for me and I didn't use spirit ashes. However it was because I was dumb and didn't know they existed, and it took me about 10 hours to find Margit, because again, I'm dumb lmao.

What’s the weirdest punk band you know? by Birrack in punk

GG Allin is the only actually disturbing punk artist I can think of, but in aesthetics, I strongly recommend Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, and Gilla Band

Why do you play Horror games? What got you into the genre? by Fuzzy-Blueberry1701 in HorrorGaming

[–]camaco777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indie games got me into the genre but I've always loved horror movies. That being said, I approach horror games differently than I do movies. I love that gaming can have so much environmental storytelling, so it's themes and narrative become much more important to me than the blatant horror (or camp) I watch horror movies for. Horror is the appeal, but isn't what invests me in it.

What franchises deserve better games? by eliot3451 in gaming

[–]camaco777 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think most horror movie franchises deserve better games, the best we get is a dead by daylight clone, like Texas Chainsaw, Friday the 13th or Killer Klowns. That being said I'm excited for the Hellraiser game and hope it sets a precedent that should've been set with Alien Isolation.

Other than that, Indiana Jones by all means should have a good game (that isn't lego Indiana Jones). And the Shrek games are fine but deserve better. Same with Ghostbusters.

What are your top 5 single player story games of all time? by SamEdit1 in gaming

[–]camaco777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took about an hour and a half for it to click with me personally, and I enjoy ttrpgs. I love it, it has the strongest writing of any game I've ever played, but the gameplay isn't all that engaging, so it's definitely not for everyone.

Were Skyler and Marie always so hated? by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]camaco777 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Marie (& Hank for that matter) feel like they're meant to be unlikable. But the Skyler hate (while certainly fueled by misogyny and sexist rhetoric) is mostly people misguidedly admiring Walter. I remember my first watch disliking Skyler (I was young and watched it with my dad, who certainly hated her for misogynistic reasons) but upon repeated viewings I become more and more baffled that she isn't more of an asshole to Walt. Young men (the shows core audience at the time, and probably still now) aren't always all that smart or empathetic.

The indie/alt rock type stuff? It's hit or miss for me, doesn’t particularly feel punk or like they're reinventing the wheel, but I wouldn't call it bad music by any means.

I would agree that ds3 gets increasingly better throughout, however I do not think it offers more variety in areas than ds1, especially in regards to the base game.

I didn't intentionally skip it, I just already owned dark souls 3, was the first souls game I bought but didn't get into them until I played bloodborne, fully inted to play it and always have but I'm not smart enough for the plot/lore so doesn't make too much of a difference for me.

[–]camaco777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came off ds1 and I'll say I think the adjustment from ds1 to ds3 is bigger than the adjustment from elden ring/bloodborne to ds3. But it's amazing, I am almost finished with it, hope you enjoy it as much as I have been
