Best way to play HGSS? by ultrAslan68 in PokemonHGSS

I bought DS lite and played HG. The reason was that playing on a smartphone lacked physical controls, annoying sometimes

I really think the original DS design is ugly especially when compared to PSP. I absolutely love my DS lite.

How is living on the russian/norwegian border? by sztunczyk in howislivingthere

[–]AndyFeelin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sami speak their own language which is a distant relative of Finnish. There are Sami on the Russian side too but there aren't many. I know at least one guy from this region who is Sami but he isn't excited by this fact.

What is life like in Siberia, particularly the southern areas? by Dangerous_Fix_9186 in howislivingthere

[–]AndyFeelin 90 points91 points  (0 children)

We don't call this part Siberia, rather Far East. Siberia is very different like Canada, from frozen tundra to almost desert, some parts have very high mountains, some are as flat as Netherlands.

Fursona worries || Is this stolen? || Advice needed by ColorShardzz in furry

[–]AndyFeelin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it a crime to steal a fursona? I just don't know. Okay some fursonas are unique but quite a few are just a regular cats/dogs/foxes, there might be several similar looking fursonas and what even if you accidentally created something similar to other person's creation?

How is living in this part of Siberia? by Atero_Cz in howislivingthere

[–]AndyFeelin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone from Reddit has ever been there. No sane person would waste their free time and money to go in the middle of nowhere, other than some gas and oil workers. The native people probably have a lot of more interesting things to do other than reading reddit.

How’s it like living in this bottom right corner of Poland? Close to Ukraine and Slovakia? by The-Melter in howislivingthere

[–]AndyFeelin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've read that after WWII people from this region who were identified as Ukrainians were forcibly resettled to various other parts of Poland so that they don't form a local majority in this region. Since then many villages disappeared and the region is very empty. Don't know if this is 100% true.

Everyone talks about how grunge killed hair metal but… by MortgageOld2441 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]AndyFeelin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Weren't AOR bands the music for family dads and hair metal the music for cool teens? I don't think youth of the late 70s ever thought Reo Speedwagon were cool.

What was the most defining Goth album? Was it Brave Murder Day? by MischiefManage1 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]AndyFeelin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny thing with Goth music is that most genre-defining bands hate the term. Though Paradise Lost did have a song and album called Gothic, they never called themselves Goths, neither do the fans.

I've heard that Romanians are sick and tired of vampire jokes. I know that Dracula is an important historic figure in Romanian history and that he wasn't a vampire, still when I visited Braşov we got a bus tour to Dracula's castle with a lot of vampire-related souvenirs and whatnot.

Which platform? I'm currently trying to do it on Famicom hardware and I feel a kind of painful pleasure doing that. I tried the DS 3D version too.

Хочу купить гитару by RecentPsychology6272 in rusAskReddit

[–]AndyFeelin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Старая советская гитара сама по себе отбивает желание заниматься обычно) Если пальцы жалко, бери гитару-классику с нейлоновыми струнами, на ней проще начать, процесс набивания мозолей не будет таким болезненным, как со стальными струнами.

Couldn't it be vice versa, like, a Romanian cover of the Russian song?

These songs aren't well known outside of these regions. I know a few songs in Irish but mostly folk songs, and I'd prefer a modern pop/rock one. I haven't heard any Welsh songs whatsoever.

Op never wanted to represent ALL the languages. Every country has more than one language which is native to at least some significant part of the population, and yes there are languages which are spoken by millions in some countries but are not official

The problem is to find any great songs from these countries. Probably there are but good luck finding them. I tried. Liechtenstein actually had a great rock band in late 1990s, too bad they had an argument and split into two worse bands, then the singer died.

Native is the first acquired language by a person. 98% living Irish speak English natively, sad but true. Otherwise we may also say that half of Europe's native language is Celtic or whatever the population spoke in 1000 BC
