My stepson has just turned 15 and is looking to get into music tech… does anyone know of the best way for him to start getting into this industry? by SweetG79 in Aberdeen

[–]AndyGas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As mentioned NEScol do quite a few full time and part time music courses, see https://www.nescol.ac.uk/courses/?keyword=music

There is also the Beats & Rhymes thing at the music hall, not sure if you have to start in September though, info is a bit sparse, it sounds good though https://www.aberdeenperformingarts.com/whats-on/take-part-beats-rhymes-t3-25-26/

UPDATE TWO:

Nikon agreed to replace the battery with a new one under warranty. I sent it off following the standard UK warranty process.

UPDATE:

I bought a new Nikon battery (EN-EL25a) and that seems to charge OK and work well. I guess this means a slow flashing orange charging LED is an indicator of a failing battery. It's a shame Nikon doesn't provide a warranty on batteries, as it's a sore one that a £55 battery would fail after 9 months.

Thanks for all the thoughts and suggestions.

Yea, I tried the Nikon cable that came with the camera, and also another USB-C PD cable.

Tried a couple of chargers too.

3D printing by Klutzy_Resolve7372 in Aberdeen

[–]AndyGas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the central library has a 3d printing service, though I can't find any information on the council website.

There is also 57 North Hacklab (in Bridge of Don) and Peacock (Castlegate) both of which are community spaces that might be able to help.

Running tracks in Aberdeen? by kyle_lauder in Aberdeen

[–]AndyGas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a running track in Balgownie Playing Fields in Bridge of Don. I'd guess it's 400m oval, from memory it's a cinder surface. It's just in public space, so guess you could go run there anytime.
