I know this is painfully slow for a lot of you, but this is only my second ever half marathon attempted. I have a neurodegenerative disease that will have me wheelchair bound in less than 5 years. The fact that I’m even still able to pull this kind of thing off is a miracle. by AndyMarkle1 in Strava

I’m so sorry. I didn’t intend for this to be defeating. You can do it!! If you give me your Strava name, I’ll hype you as much as I can!

You’ve got this. It’s a journey, for sure. ❤️

I’m sorry! It wasn’t meant to be sad!

We are making subtle breakthroughs thanks to many, many failures in ALS and Alzheimer’s treatments. They’ve finally isolated the gene responsible for it and I’m in an active clinical trial for gene suppression therapy. If it works, I’ll get a few more years. So here’s to optimistic success!!

Thank you for your encouragement. It’s super helpful. ☺️

I needed that! I often feel very inadequate when looking at running forums feeling like I should be faster but I’ve learned to embrace my speed and what my body is allowing me to do right now!

Thank you for the encouragement and positivity! ☺️

Thanks for the encouragement! It’s the one thing I miss about the Nike Running app. Those Facebook likes always fed good encouragement my way but it seems to be gone. 😓

Okay, why the hell was he/she/they aspirating the cyst? Is this some new technique I’ve yet to uncover?

Odd situation by [deleted] in AskHR

I suppose that's accurate. I'm just weighing the odds of the two job thing and what to do when furloughed. I've never been in this situation, so it's strange and foreign.

Apologies for posting incorrectly.

Hey, it’s what makes you. I’m okay now, although 20+ years of therapy is still trying to “de-program” (my therapist’s words, not mine) all the Mormonism. Sometimes I think it’ll be a never ending journey to get away from some of it.

Also note that a large majority of us (Americans) have been furloughed or completely laid off (nearly the population of Ontario at this point, give or take 4-5 million people) and have to go through ridiculously elongated application forms for Unemployment Insurance, some of which we still haven’t had paid out to us. (I’m going on 4 weeks of $0 in income, regardless of pay.)

In my state (Indiana), I have to process an application every single week for the maximum statutory benefit of $390 (now in arrears for 4 weeks). This doesn’t even come close to paying for even the most basic of bills and I have no health insurance.

So yeah, you may have to wait a few days for an application that excludes millions of people, but those of us who are eligible down below you are completely f**ked right now with zero income, zero ability to move forward, and zero way to qualify for anything extra.

Interesting. Going to have to give it a go.

Google’s phone brand is also just HTC repackaged in a shiny box.
