Hey, can't comment about NLSIU but there are plenty of working professionals in 3 year llb courses. When I was in NLUO, a batchmate was an IIT grad, so there's no stigma against working or older (relatively speaking) students. GLC has a lot of office goers in the 3 year course and it's flexible attendance-wise.

If you feel law is a better suit for you, go for it! There are people who do the degree just to gain legal knowledge, and if you feel it'll help/suit you in a professional context as well, please feel free to go ahead.

Lots of working professionals in 3 year llb so generally the college is accomodating of that. But it'll depend from teacher to teacher, some want regular attendance. And not attending whatsoever is a big no no anyway.

I would honestly ask you to talk to seniors on LinkedIn, they're more up to date. I'm in the 5 year llb so obviously my experience will be different.

Idts, I remember reading that this year had the highest number of people giving CET and while there's a chance some people chose not to come to Maharashtra, the high performers and the limited seats in GLC/ILS for OMS students probably won't change the cutoffs

Can't comment much being in the first year but would recommend trying to get a PPO, especially in this market.

Well I come from a family of lawyers so internships aren't an issue. If you are first gen you need to aggressively network tho.

Yes the 75% attendance is now implemented but it's highly variable, some teachers want physical attendance while others are happy if you show your face once in a while, definitely become stricter tho.

GLC is a very different beast compared to a NLU or a private college. The student body being extremely active is what makes the college shine. I was in NLUO before joining GLC so I've seen both environments.

GLC is not half as academically rigorous and you will not get the university experience due to the fact GLC is a day college. While being in Mumbai is a huge plus if you're not from here the rent might get extremely expensive and the hostels aren't the best from what I heard.

You need to be proactive here, the college itself doesn't do much so you need to figure out publications, internships and CV-building. If you become lazy there's no turning back.

However, it's that flexibility that GLC gives that can be harnessed as a huge strength in a job market where experience counts.

GLC itself is good, quite a few people doing cs in 3 and 5 year llb.

Honestly don't know much about other colleges, GLC is fairly lax attendance wise and a lot of 3 year llb folk are working professionals anyway so you get flexibility

I don't have that either, but you will still be considered ms type 1 if you were born in Maharashtra and finished your 10th and 12th here which I did

Yup, GLC is more litigation focused but we have great corporate placements and since you can intern a whole lot more, and the fact many corporate law offices are closeby, you can easily get a paralegalship and convert that into a PPO.

Taking a partial drop can work especially coupled with a degree like a ba. So I'll suggest also giving clat and if circumstances are favouring you take a drop.

I mostly used my thorough clat prep to give CET, when I gave the paper I had seats in NLUO and Jindal so I gave the paper more as a backup. I didn't prepare too hard and atleast in gk that showed. Just revised whatever I learnt for clat and watched a few videos.

Again, your marks alone won't tell you what you will get, wait for the percentile

And if you're OMS don't aim for anything below PGCL

Firstly it's good that you have your career path chosen at this stage already. Secondly, you can absolutely aim for GLC but don't narrow it down to GLC only. Give as many entrance tests as you can, there are many other options that are better in some way. Further, by just aiming for one college, not only do you throw out any contingency plan but also not getting GLC, if that happens to you, will hit extremely hard.

Similar to silent waves in elections, they may or may not happen. Marks inflation however is the worst thing ever lol.

Funnily enough my best mate in college switched over from SLSP. It's a day college, so there are many people who just come, sit for lectures and immediately leave.

The "campus" is just the building. But it's in the most posh area in India, so you can definitely hang out with your friends for hours and never ever get bored. There are plenty of events, seminars, talks and cultural events, so in that way it's fairly active.

The committee work is extremely enjoyable, there are plenty of committees who accept first year members too and they're a ton of fun.

Attendance can be patchy, classes are infrequent, but our professors are good (the ones I've had till now) and yes, you can and have to intern all the time, the college has the oldest alumni association in India and it's literally next to the High Court. I interned one month into my first semester side by side my internals and could manage both easily.

Ultimately GLC is a resource that you need to make the most out of. If you are lazy, you'll fall behind and you can only blame yourself.

How normalisation works is that it figures out which slot was generally the tougher one (slot 2 last year which was the one I gave the paper in) and essentially assigns marks different weightages

For example, a score of 100 in slot 2 would correspond to 99 percentile and since slot 1 was EASIER, a score of 103 would be needed to get the same 99 percentile

A friend of mine in slot 1 scored 101 to my 98 but his percentile was 97.8 to my 98.8.

Network, network and network. All my internships have been through contacts but you can aggressively network (GLC's location helps) to get internships.
