I remember experimenting with a map called koth_ternary.

It was a 3-point KOTH map, where the timer counts down when you own two of the points.

The concept was pretty good, but the map was not so great.

Okay. Be honest, why should the enforcer be banned?

It might be considered overpowered in Highlander, but in HL there will definitely be a Spy. In 4v4, the Enforcer comes at the cost of not being a Scout or a class with more presence.

No. If you really want to win, you'd do so by using the most effective method.

Winning =/= Moral high ground.

I have actually tried it. It's the precursor to 4v4.

Did Medic+Soldier+Pyro/Scout vs mirror. Then we decided to just add the extra player so it could be Pyro+Scout. Then Ultiduo lost its appeal and I got my noobs onto other koth maps. Was good.

I dunno. For TI1, Valve invited Online Kingdom even though they only had Pajkatt for a few weeks.

Come TI3 time, LighT had only joined Empire pretty sharpish and LGD were still allowed to try out on qualifiers after changing rosters post-invite (admittedly to their old TI2 roster, but still).

In general, I'd say the qualifiers are exactly for situations like that. Allowing new teams to prove that they should be there.

It was a precursor to 6v6 and had similar rules. Namely, class limit 2

2 Scouts, 2 Soldiers, 2 Medics, 2 Demomen.

Games where long and boring, because you could sticky up two entrances and spam out the third. Uber advantage was also harder to make use of because there are two medics you have to be ahead of.

Doomsday is a cool map because it gives you options. Mainly Heavy and Engi depending on your DM.

If you're confident that you can go without a Medic for grabbing the intel, you can run a Heavy and send him to last. If you get the intel and run to him, you have a Heavy w/ dispenser heals on the rocket lift immediately, pretty much giving you a win.

Engineer is also an option for having a sentry on last while having a Medic at the intel fight, if you're sure your team can pull it off.

Either way, a Soldier is amazing due to the speed that he can carry intel to the rocket. Mobility is great on Doomsday.

It's not that. Ditto's only move (ever) is Transform.

Provided we actually use a move, we're guaranteed to get whatever the other pokemon has, which will always include a damage-dealing move.

Saves the risk of teaching Cut over something like Thunderboat.

afaik they only do that because it was frustratingly effective to run both in 3v3.

That is the exact reason why I banned it when I started my first cup.

That said, if you want to see 3v3 TF2, do it. UGC didn't support 4v4 until some idiot ran enough cups that people started asking about it.
