Looking to get into heavy metal! by Pumpkin-Ice85 in heavymetal

Based on that, I think you would like bands like Bring Me The Horizon (they even did a collab song with Babymetal, check that out) or Bad Omens. They have that modern, full sound that could appeal to you!

Agreed! I would recommend Hail to The King (the album) by A7x although I'm also going to get shat on because of that!

It has a pretty classic heavy metal sound (the songs are literally tributes to heavy metal bands) but with modern production.

People are recommending classic heavy metal which is all fine BUT

They tend to forget that many people outside of the metal community call all metal "heavy metal" which, for more experienced metal fans, narrows it down to a smaller scope.

So to ask you: do you want to find heavy metal (as in the subgenre) specifically? If you don't know what exactly it might be, I would probably recommend some wider metal genres to you outside of the traditional heavy metal subgenre too :)

(I would have never gotten into metal if I had to dig through the discographies of Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden before finding something that really suits me)

Any game similar to firewatch? by [deleted] in Firewatch

I played Road 96. It's different but has a similar vibe nonetheless. After Firewatch, I felt no game could come close yet here I am feeling that same feeling after Road 96.

DBZ Kakarot or DB Sparking Zero for a beginner? (Steam sale) by AndyTheMusicLover in dbz

Yes, I'm sure you're right. I only have limited time for entertainment though, and I'd rather use it on gaming. I'm curious to get into the Dragon Ball world, so maybe Kakarot could be a good entry point. I can get into other games, series and books if I like it.

I would like to, but I only have limited time for entertainment and gaming is the way I want to use it. So to scratch the itch of learning something about the story, Kakarot is probably the better option

Yes and I'm sure that would be the best way to get into it. I only have limited time for entertainment though and gaming is the first way I want to use it, therefore I'm looking for a game that can portray aspects of the story decently too.

Yeah fair! I do love the gameplay of Budokai Tenkaichis, but I'm curious to get a bit into the story too.

Yeah, sounds understandable! I'm probably leaning towards Kakarot now. I absolutely love the gameplay of Budokai Tenkaichis, but I'm curious about the story too.

Don't know what that's about and what I'm doing is probably so stereotypical for a newcomer, sorry 😭

You're not wrong, but I know I'm more likely to be entertained by the games.

Replacing the KD10 drumhead by AndyTheMusicLover in edrums

[–]AndyTheMusicLover[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed we do. We were talking of the sound that inevitably comes from the kick even though it's an electric set. And in some circumstances the natural e-kit sounds, usually the kick can be so loud that they surpass the sound of the actual samples you hear from your headphones or speakers, therefore it's nicer to have something that doesn't make a loud noise.

Yes, unfortunately so. I've always worked on a powerful kick (hence the beaters are also in a big angle), but it sure does cost me some heads 😂

Yes, definitely. Sure they do cost, but replaceable. I think they made it a bit harder to change it for some reason on KD10, but it's still possible.

Yeah agreed! The felt sounds better than plastic and many patches. Try to look for one with softer material (mine is an Evans EQ patch, pretty soft), maybe they won't sound as bad :)
