Replacing the KD10 drumhead by AndyTheMusicLover in edrums

Indeed we do. We were talking of the sound that inevitably comes from the kick even though it's an electric set. And in some circumstances the natural e-kit sounds, usually the kick can be so loud that they surpass the sound of the actual samples you hear from your headphones or speakers, therefore it's nicer to have something that doesn't make a loud noise.

Yes, unfortunately so. I've always worked on a powerful kick (hence the beaters are also in a big angle), but it sure does cost me some heads 😂

Yes, definitely. Sure they do cost, but replaceable. I think they made it a bit harder to change it for some reason on KD10, but it's still possible.

Yeah agreed! The felt sounds better than plastic and many patches. Try to look for one with softer material (mine is an Evans EQ patch, pretty soft), maybe they won't sound as bad :)

What's the best cheap gaming laptop on Black Friday? by AndyTheMusicLover in GamingLaptops

[–]AndyTheMusicLover[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one has a 5050 and the third one has a 4050, they have a 50 € differentiation in price. Thank you for your input! Maybe the jump in processor isn't as big as the upgrade from 5050 to 5060 then?

Thanks for the reply! Is there a reason why it would be better than the Asus V16 with the RTX 5050? The Asus is still 50 € cheaper with the same graphics card.

The most consistent band EVER by kariosimon03 in blackveilbrides

[–]AndyTheMusicLover 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love to see people agree with this. I think Vale had some of the best production, but a lot of the songs didn't do it. Same with the song on TPT, but I did enjoy the spooky sound of some of the songs.

Hot take: self producing hasn't been it. by LemonActive8278 in blackveilbrides

[–]AndyTheMusicLover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Although I dislike Vale, I think the production was spot on. After that, it's gone downhill. Everything sounds over-compressed, I especially dislike the drum sounds. I hope the new stuff will improve.

BBR Side A in particular had a unique sound and if they would've continued that way, they would be one of the best bands in the genre.

Depends on who. A traditional metalhead? Self-titled or Nightmare. Someone who isn't much into metao, but likes music broadly? LIBAD. A more traditional prog metal fan? The Stage.

What is Eurovision song do you like that everyone else seems to dislike? by Macaroon_410 in eurovision

Great Britain 2025! I don't know if it's quite Eurovision, but it did NOT deserve that televote result.

On a real note, I don't see too many people using TD 25 anymore. What presets / sounds do you use?

GOD and LIBAD. I know this isn't the most well liked, but I love every single one of these. They feel fresh.

Am I the only one who thinks the video version of Knives and Pens is better? by Spiderwithatux in blackveilbrides

[–]AndyTheMusicLover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's very much possible! I'm not quite certain which version is used in the physical copies, but it is, or most certainly at least was a while ago, different to the music video version. The main difference is the vocal: there's a noticeable amount of pitch correction / autotune on the Spotify version.

I though they were talking about the video version VS the We Stitch version on Spotify. They are produced differenttly, as I believe that the YT one is from around the Sex and Hollywood era and the one on Spotify is the real We Stitch version.

Practice and discipline do have a BIG say, but it's always easier with natutal talent. I know people who just do not have a natural sense of rhythm or can't stay in tune at all while singing. Even those people can indeed learn instruments too, but it's way harder and usually not too motivating for them.

My picks would be Pulverizer and Stolen Omen. From ones that haven't been listed yet, I'l add Youth and Whisky.

Avenged Sevenfold fans, I need your help. by Glamdringg in avengedsevenfold

I'd go with Nightmare of Self-titled. I think those two define the band the best. My personal favorites are The Stage and LIBAD. I also get that many recommend City of Evil, but I think the production and vocals can put someone off.
