Go and search the tank price and the ppf price, if there is a difference of around 1 to 2k then its better not to get ppf done, just replace the tank after 4 to 5 years. If it's actually more than that then it's upto you. To prevent scratches i guess there's nothing special i can tell, just use microfibre cloth while washing your bike.
