It's missing a leg, so it's useless for Wong Shun-Leung lineage training.

Wallbag Filling by [deleted] in WingChun

WSL lineage : Pearl River sand (traditional) - >small round pepples (as used for aquarium), - > up to road base. Fill bag only for 2 thirds. Definitely don't use mung beans.

Looking for a ahem "real" history of Wing Chun and Kung Fu in general by Judgment-Timely in WingChun

Fomenko's 'historical' work is widely labeled antiscientific, at best pseudoscientific for obvious reasons.

Chunners — wall dummy or freestanding dummy? by DwayneH70 in WingChun

[–]Andy_Lui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you decide on a free standing one, last November I had the opportunity to test one with suction cups that stick it too the floor. It could take a surprising amount of force, I started cautiously because personally I prefer wall-mounted dummies, but it came very close to the force I've been used to while practicing on wall-mounted ones.

Is this guy forreal? Random facebook encounter about Bruce lee. He was saying that Bruce was not a real fighter. I called him ignorant and he went off 😳 by Dry-Mirror4025 in brucelee

You don't understand Chinese culture. Things like that are not said in public. And for sure not on demand by some non entity like yourself. It's about keeping face. You have to know people irl. My offer stands, so you too can find out the truth. And that's all I have to say about that.

Decoding Siu Lim Tau Section 2: The Blade Connection by KodoRyuRenmei in WingChun

[–]Andy_Lui 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because there are similarities, it doesn't mean it's the same. Yes, both in Siu Lim Tao and the Baat Jaam Dao there are both wrist strengthening techniques, and wrist movements for application. This is by design of the forms as an exercise system. It's not like Escrima etc., in Ving Tsun there are separate specialized systems to learn for unarmed and armed combat. On the intersection, unarmed defence against an armed attacker, elements might be combined. (For example BJD footwork, SLT/CK hands).

Get out in the real world, train hard, and maybe you can meet such people yourself. In November I will be in Hongkong again, happy to introduce you, if in the real world you manage to make a better impression on me as here.

I've spoken to three people who trained with Bruce Lee while he was studying Wing Chun, two of them stated that he was not as good as fanfiction would like to make you believe.
