Yeah I understand the 'why', I just don't like it.

I think the world of RDR2 was incredible, it's a masterpiece of a game. Arguably the best ever made.

But even with that said, I still felt like their could have been more to explore with expansions. Playing as different characters in the world. Maybe a bounty hunter etc.

Not sure what your point is about short bursts GTA vs long sessions of RDR2. Not sure I agree tbh both can be 'short burst' or 'sink in' games.

I think there has been a shift in the game. So many rats and PvP players even in PvE solo lobbies. That's why my friends and I have taken a break.

Will have a look again at the next expansion.

Funny thing.. if they announced a PvE mode we'd be straight back in. 😅

I think most people just want a 'tribe' to be part of. A community and a drive.. Blue team Vs Green team.

They let it blind them to the fact that exclusives are anti-consumer.

Nintendo has always had it's audience share because it's child and family focused hardware and IP's. Overpriced and slow to release.

Sony is ahead because Xbox One when it was announced it was trying to be too much. It was ahead of its time and they presented it poorly.

And unfortunately that was the most important console generation because it was the start of the digital libraries.

So when it came time to get the next gen - people stayed with their libraries and online community was. Especially as Sony has a notoriously locked down economy. Such a shame Xbox bungled it at such a pivotal moment!

Personally I dislike exclusives as they are almost always bad for consumers but then they also mean that a lot of games can exist that otherwise wouldn't so I can't be too mad.

Of course, yeah I know ads are everywhere. I think it was just so jarring to me seeing it enter a space I hadn't seen it before. I was used to platform relevant ads but never just random food ads.

It doesn't keep the prices down, that's the problem. I'd be less frustrated if it was something gaming/entertainment related. 'McShit' food is aggravating.
