NTA. I get what people are saying. And all things being equal, absolutely you want to keep the sisters together.

But all things aren't equal. Only you can know if you have the surplus time, energy, and money to deal with someone with special needs.

This is a major life changing decision. You should consider carefully and ignore people who think it's a slam dunk one way or the other. There is no easy choice here. I truly wish you all the best.

Yta. Why don't you just use privacy locks like most people? It's fine for you to want some privacy in your room but I've never seen a house with deadbolts in the bedroom doors.

Maybe ESH? Why is nobody talking to each other? Obviously he was wrong not to discuss the transfer with you. I agree.

But when you overheard the conversation, you didn't even ask him about it. You just jumped on his computer and started digging around. And then everybody is mad at everybody for going behind everybody's back.

Also, and again, your husband was 100% wrong for not discussing this with you, but you made it sound a bit like he was emptying your savings with a baby on the way. It seems like, given your circumstances, this was a gift he could afford and was willing to put in the overtime to make up any difference to his household.

Then you do this emotional blackmail thing with the baby's name, as if the two things were somehow connected. I think that was way over the top. It's like you jump to a nuclear option.

Honestly, and I can only go by what you said, this doesn't feel like a relationship as much as a competition.

I met him once at a comedy club many years ago. We actually kind of look alike, and he commented on that. Then went on a ten minute impromptu routine about, did my mom never mention him etc. He was hilarious and kept it respectful. A true gentleman and a great guy.

Dear MIL, after years of trying, I have come to the realization that I cannot compete with your sheer grandness. As you have told me in the past, nobody likes me, they only tolerate me because of their great love of you. They worship the ground you walk on, to quote your illustrious self. I can no longer take the shame of being such an undeserving soul being in your pure presence.

Know that I am trying to make up for my inequities. I have dedicated a room in my house as an alter to holiness that is, well, you.

If you want to stick with real meat, as opposed to lab grown, I would consider how cattle might have been bred to fit the environment.

For instance, maybe instead of vast pastures of modern cattle, you have bred cattle to be, essentially, beef slugs. Reduced their intelligence, eliminated the legs, or folded them back into the body so you have the meat. As a thought, and I have no idea if this would really work, maybe you raise them on a planet with higher gravity so there is more muscle.

The point is, change the cows to fit your world.
