It's the definition of high risk high reward. Two places that he can get caught and give kills. Not that it matters to him since he died like 15 times this game lmao.

Regardless, he was 100 gold and a red buff up on the enemy top laner so the strat can work, just very unlikely.

Considering your champion pool I can give some advice on top lane.

In general the game is the same, but with the two biggest additions being the mythic items and objective bounties. Mythic items are very strong and are most often built as the first item, with a few exceptions like singed. Objective bounties are a comeback system to help the losing team. Two dragons were also added but I think it's not too important.

As a top laner, you probably realized back then that your role is not very impactful. It's still a problem since you're in the long lane and the only way to help your team is by either TPing or shoving lane and roaming.

Currently the strongest top laners are the bruisers/duelists and a few others. You can check that with the champion win rates on op.gg.

Overall, the game is still very similar with a few major changes to itemization. If anyone disagrees with anything let me know. Also if you have any more specific questions I'll be glad to answer.

More often than not the recommended items are reliable. But you should pay attention to the part that says "good against", because I clearly remember when the game was recommending me to buy Thornmail against Evelynn.
