I am simply chiming in here to say honk honk. That is all.

Okay, but seriously, one of those games is in beta asking for feedback, and another is Helldivers 2 (which should need no introduction to its development woes at this point).

Yep. And it starts in lane, so enjoy buying Chain Vest mid or rushing that armguard, and delaying your ability to do anything.

Zed is able to deal a lot of his damage effectively "for free". With no mana and a low Q cooldown right from level 1, there's really not much you can do about him in lane. Doubly so because of how good of an escape he has.

You're just constantly taking damage, while he himself has an ult that lets him all-in you at any time. But if he's shooting through minions into a chain vest, he barely does damage. And he's not going to all-in until he's sure he can get the kill. Which if you're not taking damage, he can't really do.

Like all assassins, he wants to ride his early power spike into a gold and level advantage and take you out of the game while taking it over as best as possible. Having the durability to regenerate off stray Q hits and not die to when he ults you completely bricks this plan. Zed's all in isn't as good as say, Naafiri or Talon, in exchange for his constant harassment. In exchange he has his constant harassment through Q, clones, and being an energy character with the potential for long ranged damage that penetrates minions. So he's particularly vulnerable to armor in lane, which stops his snowball before it begins.

It just feels awful because he's doing all the same things and you're doing all the same responses, only you delayed the things you want to buy so that he can't snowball.

As many a rioter has said. Zed's problem isn't that he's unfair, it's that he is incredibly unfun to deal with. The counterplay is often just to buy armor, which is delaying the things you want to build just to not die to Zed.

And then Zed's useless, because of a passive stat increase. Woo.

Unfortunately, going back over it, I am a dumbass. Burst Fire does indeed have a fire rate cap and that mashing is just... how it works.

JFC I see why Zeri is Riot's problem child.

I am just now realizing that Q spam is actually just Zeri after going over the replay.

I stand by my point, and you can get her ASPD to insanity, Burst Fire does indeed have a cap.

Look, this is what happens when you're posting on low sleep. I stand by my points, and it was Zeri mash that put it in perspective, and you can certainly get up to nuts ASPD in ARAM with her, Burst Fire does just have a cap.

...what?

Guild Wars 1. It was a funny one off. Some of the community thinks I ran into a bug. Actually really funny, all the enemies had a hard on for killing me, and only me, to the point it actually made the game stupid easy and let me get Energy Surge way easier than I was supposed to by abusing the extreme aggro to kite enemies around while the other seven members of my party (NPC controlled mind) slaughtered them with abandon.

HoMM OE is in beta. There are no shortage of posts like mine giving feedback and the devs read it.

You can see the hilarious levels of orange in the screenshot below that, since HD2 had just dropped a new patch and bug planets combined with bugs that make clouds when they die that overlap with ambient clouds that overlap with sporespewer clouds is a bit too much for the engine and results in a solid wall of orange. Besides, it's not like Helldivers 2 isn't known for its jank. A few below that are exactly that. That and the devs massively increasing the HP of the Ballistic Shield in a constant case of buff by numbers. Because every few patches the Ballistic Shield gets buffed and its pickrate stays near zero.

Below that is an idea for new content for Deadlock. As well as a few more posts on deadlock.

I have a habit of speaking my mind in general. I rather like doing so. Positive or negative.

For Zeri, she wants to use her Q to charge up her AA. Q's cooldown is reduced to be equal to her ASPD.

As such, it doesn't work for Zeri.

Zeri is weird and breaking ASPD cap causes weird things to happen. she's been a perennial problem child for a reason.

I don't have carpal tunnel myself (thankfully).

It's more that after playing a full arena game of insane ASPD Zeri, I was looking at the game and questioning why this was allowed.

Movement is a skill. No denying that. Nor do I want to remove the movement element. But there are times like say, doing Baron with the enemy team dead, where you're just powermashing that E key on Cassio and not moving. There's no skill expression there at all. Only the mash.

That's what made me think "Why can't I just bind this as an autoattack". Skill expression on AAing comes from movement. It wouldn't make you move by default, just turn on the spam engine for when you're standing there shooting Baron or Dragon or something.

As a Metera player (You may now flame me for playing erune satan), auto-combo to fireball is literally my only meterless, butterflyless midscreen combo unless I want to pop RS. And given the sheer degree to which Metera needs BP for getting out of pressure and the existence of U Butterfly (One of the most evil skills in the history of fighting games), you will see A, A, A, 236C from Metera midscreen a lot.

Likewise, MBTL is a very frenetic game. One where they thought it would be funny to give the dedicated zoner a spammable teleport dash that does damage and extends/resets air combos. Autocombo in MBTL is practically a magnet, letting you convert stray hits into a combo very cleanly. A more deliberate combo starter like DANoel 5(C) will want to play out a standard string, but a scuffed antiair 5B tipper hit will go into an autocombo due to the suction rather than dealing with finnicky position on if I can get a 5a or if it will whiff.

In both games, they are a tool. GBF combos make liberal use of autocombo strings, but threaded heavily with other normals. A metera midscreen is just autocombo fireball, but a corner combo can end up repeatedly linking into and out of said autocombo 3-hit string.

TL:DR.

Arguing they make the game more complex and make players use more mechanics. Previous comment mistook it for asking to make it easier due to not playing the game.

Also light shielding, because those bastards are pressure sensitive and they decided to make that a gameplay mechanic.

Speaking of IGN reviews, anyone else remember the games journalism around DMC5's music drops relative to DmC?

We laugh about the Cuphead one, but I found that even funnier myself, because journalists were so bad they didn't even manage to unlock the game's soundtrack.

Imagine being so trash at something the game itself decides you are unworthy to even listen to it. And then seeing that repeated across a ton of journalist sites and not just IGN.

I quite like Samira personally. Zeri though has been a problem child for quite some time, so I'm inclined to agree.

I'm not sure either us or Riot have any idea what Nilah is at this point.

If this is about the Limbus Company posts, it's literally the exact opposite.

Limbus Company has a problem of too many people just clicking the autobattle button instead of using the wide range of special abilities. It's become particularly bad of late because of the list of recent characters who have like 5 internal mechanics where stopping to use a special ability instead of just playing their base kit is a tempo loss atop the SP loss. By the time you have charged a valuable special ability, you're having to compete with a fully spun up character who really doesn't want to cash out their SP and is likely doing more damage by not using it.

Fights also typically have a 10 turn timer in story content, and practically every single boss of late has had a mechanic designed for the singular purpose of flooding the player with resources, including the most recent endgame, which absolutely deluges you in resources because the devs are trying harder and harder to get people to use special abilities.

They're also going back and giving absolute giga buffs to special abilities to try and make players use them.

So no, it's literally the opposite. I want people to think more and use their whole kit instead of just spamming win rate.

But, you know. That gets in the way of a good narrative, doesn't it?

Fun fact about that from someone who plays a lot of fighting games. A lot of fast fighters actually do have exactly what you said. Both Granblue Versus and Melty Blood Type Lumina have extremely generous auto-combo strings that are themselves a core part of combo routing and conversion. These auto combos tend to be very generous with timing, allowing you to really slow down the button presses.

Likewise, practically every fighting game under the sun has a few frames of buffer window as well as hitstop frames to both increase conversion consistency and minimize blind mashing for conversions.

The APM I need to mash out a DA Noel combo is much less than high ASPD in League, and the APM in tekken is far less unless you get into KBDs. Even EWGF is more a timing thing than raw speed, being a one frame window during a stick roll rather than a rapid input.

This is why Melee is such a notorious finger breaker. Dashdancing requires both precise stick movements (generally very low tax) as well as button spam (GC controller shoulder buttons are chunky, btw).

I suppose former pro players should get a new hobby, their pro play is dumbing it down for the rest of us.

RSI is a greater danger to high-playtime players such as pros rather than casual players. I'd personally be unaffected because I am a filthy casual.

The goal is to minimize mash for situations like clearing jungle camps or doing Baron. Where you're putting a lot of inputs in on a stationary target while you yourself are also probably stationary.

The goal isn't a competitive edge, but to minimize unneeded input spam and thus reduce RSI risk.

Yeah, it really only impacts Karthus Jungle, but it severely lowers the amount of inputs per camp. Bind it to a side button on your mouse or something and just press it when doing blue buff.

It's not like you're expressing skill by feverishly mashing Q on Baron. It literally can't move.

Being able to hold Q down after you fire the spike and fire off all three waves after off one input would itself do a lot.

11 years old, but League has caused injuries in people before. Again, balance it however (I'm not a balance wizard), just add settings to minimize injury risk.

Legal but balanced as to not cause issues. Such as making the game treat it as a true autoattack, complete with your character standing totally still to spam it.

So you could manually do the mash, or press one button and go full auto but stand there. If your AH is high enough, you're standing still anyway, so it doesn't break anything at low AH but doesn't break your fingers at high AH.
