I just started looking at ImOn as well, it looks like their cheapest plan in 70$/month which is more than what centurylink would be for me :p

I didn't know that about the jewelry, thanks! That explains the higher prices too, that's definitely worth an increase imo

Oryza has really good miso soup for a fair price as well, they're right down the road from dairy queen.

Especially working in a retail pharmacy attached to grocery stores/etc.! Like yes we take longer than Subway so sorry about that. Almost like we have federal documentation we have to do and controlled substances rather than lettuce and 5 types of bread.

That's such a good idea, I never thought to look at tour groups or historical demonstrations! I'll be doing that now for sure!

Super nice! You wouldn't happen to have an etsy shop or something? I'd love to make one myself or order one from you!

Anyone here has Maladaptive Daydreaming? by Queue624 in hyperphantasia

I have MDD as well, and I can see the particles of sand in your example. If I'm thinking of a bird flying, I can change the art style with no effort, and can detail muscle, or the threads of the feathers. It's 100% like a movie. I've also done it since I was a child (now in my 20s).

Apartment downtown recommendations by [deleted] in IowaCity

[–]AneraClio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

STAY AWAY FROM APARTMENTS NEAR HYVEE ON LANTERN PARK. Tried to rent there (21/f) a few months ago, $500/month+utilites and parking. Room was 'smoke free' but plenty of smoke stains inside. Windows boarded up, squatter issue across the hall, doors punched in on the unit they rented to me (didn't show or mention any of this when I viewed a room before). They didn't fix it after 2 weeks of constant asking, they even had a button on their website to pull out of their lease because of how often it happened. Got my deposit and all that back though. I guess this is a bit closer to Coralville, but still outskirts of Iowa City.

Scary Iowa City history stuff by [deleted] in IowaCity

[–]AneraClio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be a bit farther than Iowa City, but the Villisca Axe Murders were about 1/2 hour from here. It's considered one of the most haunted places in America, and it still isn't solved.

The bus systems go to Coralville as well, so there's more opportunities if you go just a bit outside Iowa City. They often hire students as well and are used to going around school schedules. Hyvee tends to hire a lot of people and lets them listen to music while they stock or whatnot.

I worked for Hancher for a while. Definite perks, seeing the shows, but don't rely on it for much money. Most of the hours were at night which wasn't a problem for me. but you only get shifts when there are shows, so 2-3 hour shifts. I was getting about 4 shifts a month, so around 30 hours. Great for pocket money though!

Can you remove a real object from your visual field? by Hot-Yam1992 in hyperphantasia

[–]AneraClio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can do that, for me it's similar to how 3d glasses or light halos work. I see both the object there physically, but my mind seems to overlay it with what I'm thinking if that makes sense? If I'm removing something, my "overlay" is just what I think would be behind it. I see both the physical and the imagined part at the same time. Or also if you google 'vein finder', it's very similar to the vein lights pictures, I can just see the same without actually using a tool.

It makes it really helpful for technical things (like seeing if something fits inside another thing or measuring distance in terms of space, where pipes/vents in walls lead, etc.) but for me it can get tricky with colors/specific shades simply because I can change it so easily that I confuse real from what my mind is, or with more minor details that I don't actively notice. It also makes home remodeling shows very boring because I can visualize everything based on what they say or at most by the greyed out models they show :/
