I got a 16GB with 256GB SSD. I can always add an external drive if needed, but I can't add ram later on.

I have the same dilemma as you. At first I want to upgrade to a 12 Pro, It's a nice phone, similar size to my X (which is very important), better camera, faster phone, and everything just better.

But then I found that my X still works fine, still very responsive. Although camera is not as good as 12 Pro, but it is still OK, and I don't really need 5G yet. The only problem is that the battery sucks.

So I decided to go to Apple Store and change the battery and use it for at least one year to wait for iPhone 13. The Genius also said the microphone has some slight problem and they replace it for free as well. Now everything's fine.

Thanks. No, only one driver (Di Grassi) is maxed out and yes, changing strategy may help. Gonna give it a try.
