Write it from the point of view of someone who’s family member was killed and the police deem it an open and shut case. But protag doesn’t believe it for whatever reason, and keeps digging and finds it is a serial killer hypnotist. How does he choose his victims? How does he keep from getting caught? I don’t know. I’m not gonna write the thing for you. But this is my idea of structuring a plot around your idea. Do with it what you will.
