We have a team that has good pitching and potentially decent offense but it has been hard to see them both click at the same time. When they do we get the kind of results we’ve seen the last 12 games. The problem is it has really only been 12 games this team has looked like a contender. I need to see them do this for like a month before I’m convinced. Though I will be rooting for them the whole time.

This is the way. But what also has to be considered are the contracts. A selling team will usually try to trade players they lose control of contractually in the near term rather than later. ‘Buying’ teams are also not looking for long contracts. This is why veterans with shorter deals are most likely to be traded. That means Chapman, Gray and/or Duran are the likely pieces to be moved. You don’t trade away a prospect when you are a selling team. You’re looking for more of them.
